Brinks Covered 5/16 inch x 5 feet Flexible Steel Combination Cable Lock

for the money its ok.i have a sm shopping cart I use on the bus locked in our buildings community room. Its pretty sade there. Wouldn't use any place then there. which reminds me I better get a better one for when I get a bicycle.

I bought this for a low-cost scooter. It's easy to use and simple. I only use this for a quick in/out of a store or bank. I'd NOT use this for long-term security, as a person with cable cutters would have no problem cutting the cable.

This Brinks cable look appears durable and strong. The 5/16” cable is twisted steel and it has a 5/16” vinyl jacket coating on the outside. The entire 5’ cable and lock is covered with the vinyl and the lock is plastic so there are no exposed medal that could rust. The cable rolls up in a coil which is really nice for transporting and storing. The lock is preset and the combination is provided on little medal tag on the cable that can be removed and put on a key ring, etc. This cable lock is long enough to secure various items. I am very satisfied with the cable lock and will probably be purchasing more for other devices.

I was happy to receive this Brinks cable lock in return for review. This is a quality item, that allows me lock up my personal belongings. The vinyl coating protects your valuables from scratches. I keep my lawn tools on my sunporch, but the door doesn’t lock. I often worry about someone stealing my things. This cabled combination lock is a great solution for me. I cabled it around my lawnmower to a metal shelf unit. The combination lock is nice with no key needed. I also have a cabinet, where I keep my tools and it doesn’t lock. I can wrap this Brinks Cable lock around the handles to keep my tools safe. The cable is 5 foot long, giving me more possibilties and more uses for this lock. I would recommend this Brinks 5 foot cable combination lock to anyone for securing their personal valuables. It can be used by teenagers to secure their bikes, so they aren’t stolen.

I received this product as a Walmart Spark Reviewer. Tested the functionality of the item. Appears to work as intended. Though, I found that if someone has big fingers, they may have a problem turning the tumblers. Also, I think to have a more accurate review of this item, Walmart might want to consider leaving reviews open to be able to come back a t later date to report any issues found weeks, months or even years down the road.

It's fine. it does the job. it's not heavy duty but is still functional. you can't change the combination of the lock to your choice so that's a negative.

Really really really really only use this thing about two times. I've had it for about a year now and I lost the code and don't know how to get the code back if you buy this keep the code in the safe because it's very specific there was no instructions on how to change the code so I left it with the original code and now I don't have it.

I bought 3 for my kids so their bikes, scooters, etc. wouldn't get stolen when we ride to the closest park. They are coiled in the package, so I cut them open %26 initialed 1 (they were surprise gifts) %26 thankfully, before I wrote on the rest I tried the preset combo (1234-easy right?🙄) %26 it didn't open no matter how much I twisted %26/or pulled, it still didn't open. I thought well, maybe someone messed with it %26 reset it in the store, 🤷🏼‍♀️ so I tried the other 2...nothing! I thought I was doing something wrong, so I adjusted the %23's to perfectly match up %26 still-nothing! I would NOT recommend wasting your money on these!

I will give credit where credit is due it dose serve one purpose which is discourage a thief from getting your stuff. The down side of that is once its locked you might not be able to get your stuff ether until the lock stops malfunctioning. one of the %23 is almost impossible to turn when entering the combination, once you finally do get it moving it will then not want to unlock and you have to repeat the code again and hope it works. there has been times that it took 3 trys to get it unlocked. last but not least let me not forget you also have to make sure that the numbers are lined up exactly in order for the key to fit into the lock and then make sure you turn the dial so that it doesn't just seem locked when it didn't catch, and isn't locked.

I’ve had this on my bike directly outside of my apartment for less than a month and someone already cut through it to steal my bike. Flat tire stopped them and they left the lock behind. The lock had a clean, smooth break, it was effortless whatever they used. This is just not acceptable quality at all. Got an error when trying for a refund, I want my money back, why bother even putting a code lock on it if it’s only for show!
