It was a great summer with all the Boy Scouts...but how did the camp cook box end up in my garage?...and it kinda stinks too! Have no fear, Scotch-Brite copper scrubbing pads not only got the cast iron cookware clean (little boys do not rinse food out of cookware well, ewww), but I managed to "un-glob" burnt marshmallows off of the insides (how did this happen?) and the outsides of the cook box....cooking grills are spotless again (aha, that was the funky smell). When you have a really disgusting cleaning job, copper scrub pads rock! DO NOT use on non-stick cookware.
these things are 5 star quality if ever, I've been using 3 for a year now between 3 people, each of us scrubs everything from dishes to cook top to ovens and i will never waste money on another product unless it has scotch written on it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago and I'm so happy that I did. I use it in the kitchen for my dishes and my countertop. There is no smell. I also tried using it in my bathroom, and it cleans EVERYTHING so well. I would definately recommend this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] amazing amazing amazing. The Scotch-Brite brand has done it again. I have some pots and pans that needed some extra attention due to both heavy use an just a mess from everyday use. The copper coated scrubbies made it so much easier to get my pans clean. Less effort for an amazing clean. A must have for anyone with a dish and a kitchen.
I did receive a sample of one of these pads and thought 2 might have been in the package. I am usually concerned about scratching a product and was hoping for a suggested list of possible uses. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It seems like most of the other reviewers received this product as a free sample and only used it a couple times. I bought this a couple weeks ago because it was the only metal scrubbing pad the store carried. I should have gone to a different store to purchase the kind I had used previously. This pad was only used a few times before it started splintering. The tiny metals shards embedded themselves in my non-scratch sponge and poked holes in my dish washing gloves. The only reason I gave the product 2 stars instead of 1 star is because before it started splintering, the pad cleaned everything up nicely. The other 2 scrubbers that came in the package are heading to the recycle bin and I am headed to the store to buy a different kind of scrubber.
I don't like this product. I can not think of any products I would feel save using this on. As the packaging states rusting will occur on the scrubbing pad and it does which can be a pain. I feel most people would not have much use for this product.
I bought a package of the copper scouring pads to clean the outside of my metal grill. It didn't clean it at all and the water in the bucket turned yellow. I rinsed it out and left it in my white sink to dry. When I went back later, it had rusted the sink. I tried wetting the others, and they also leaked rusty water. It was impossible to read on the package that they may rust. If I had read that, I would not have purchased them. I threw them out. I had also purchased the stainless ones, but haven't used them yet.
I bought this more than two weeks ago and I feel very disappointed. The scrubbing pad breaks easily and the pieces of metal scrape your hands. Actually I would like my money back.
I used to buy Scotch-Brite copper scrubbing pads regularly, but I haven't see them available for a time. When I purchased them in the past year I was looking forward to using them again. I was disappointed to see my soapy water turning brown the first time I used them. Upon examining the package I noticed on the back (in white print on the cellophane) this warning - "Due to the nature of this item, rusting will occur." Also I believe that because the product is now labeled as "Copper Coated Scrubbing Pads" the copper rubs off after one use. I've tried drying them completely in an aerated plastic holder. I've even tried putting them in the dishwasher. Obviously the pads are now made of of a cheaper material and coated with "copper" which wears off when the pad is used to scrub on its first use! I use metal scrubbers on my stainless steel and cast iron cookware. I will definitely switch to stainless steel scrubbing pads, but I'll be sure to read the package clearly to ensure that the pads are not coated. I do not recommend buying this product.
