I used this last year closed my pool up in September and didn't open until May I was having nightmares that when I took the cover off it would be green. When we took the cover off the pool the water was so clear the kids jump right in.

I've been using these chemical balls for several years now. i truly believe they help keep the pool clean over the winter. Very easy to use. just puncture the hole and toss it in.

I guess it works. I'm not in the pool under the cover during the winter to see if anything is going on. What I don't understand is that it opens at one end but it floats leaving the opening above the water.....how does it "seep" out ? I got one last fall and it looked like it was as full as the day I put it in the pool. I would recommend it because I don't know of another product and I really don't want to.

This winter pill worked for me last year for my above ground pool upon closing. I used two small ones for my pool. No problems what so ever. Took pool water for testing upon opening this year, everything was in order. Just needed a little chlorine. Bought this item again for this year's closing a larger pill this time. Note: Make sure your pool is clean and in balance before usage. Follow the directions for pool closing. I also cover my pool when the season is over.

I have a good sized in ground pool and I am very lazy about caring for it as well as cheap. I love the idea of throwing this ball into it and forgetting it for the winter but I think this year I may do it twice rather than once just to make sure it lasts through the winter. I put off opening the pool this year about a month longer to save on electric expenses so I think it will help.
