SentrySafe 1170 Fire-Resistant Box Safe with Key Lock, 0.61 Cu. ft., Black

This fit my needs exactly. My attorney drew up a family trust and said I should get a fire security box to keep it in case the house burned down. The document would still be safe and available for my successor trustee. This box does the job at a reasonable price.

We have an older version and bought this one as a Christmas gift for our son. Like the peace of mind for important documents yet doesn't take up a lot of space.

I thought this safe wasnt going to be sturdy enough! My strong football son had to lift safe and place it where I wanted it. I love the key feature, don't have to memorize another password. Big enough for all my important papers and MOM stash! Lol

The quality of this one is not as good as the older ones by comparison. This is my second safe of same brand just smaller, that's why I had to get a new bigger one! The keys is so flimsy and inadequate for the item that was supposed to be strong and durable.

Solid and secure safe that will fit lots of documents in file folders and hanging folders. I would have liked if there were handles on the sides to make it easier to lift up. I added some felt strips to the bottom after reading some reviews that it scratched floors. Hopefully I will never have to test it's usefulness in a fire.

Needed a place to safely and securely store some important documents for a legal issue. Good price for what what you get. Might just be me, but I have to turn the key a bit before closing the lid or the key won't turn at all. I opted to live with it.

Will be returning this only because I went ahead and ordered as a gift and recipient wants a different lock type.

The Key/Lock quality is not ideal. The key will only unlock the safe after fidgeting with it for some time. Also, I can't remove the key when it's unlocked. (The key can only be removed in the locked position) I do like the size of the safe, plenty of room for documents, external hard drives, photos, etc... There are no handles for moving/carrying the safe like the smaller models have.

I bought this one hoping to store my important documents. But size is small. One can store A4 paper size documents directly but not if the documents are in a folder. Additionally, this is definitely not water-proof. Very disappointed with this sentrysafe.

The key locking mechanism of the safe was defective right out of the box. SentrySafe advised me to return it for a replacement. It was assembled in Mexico. I'm not certain how much the company saves by doing business outside of the United States if they're replacing brand new safes due to shoddy workmanship. Hopefully my replacement will be satisfactory.
