I love this, I got it for to store insurance and disability paperwork for my child and it the best investment I ever made. I'm going to get a bigger one next time for the amount of papers I have from the doctors, hospital and for disability. It close shut and you can leave it as is or lock it with the key. And it super strong, I drop it down by accident and it wasn't even dented

It has a heavy weight construction, a positive and easy to use locking mechanism, and a storage well that allows hanging files for organized document placement. Overall, very pleased with the product and recommend the Sentry Fire and Water safe to anyone needing secure storage of valuables.

very nice safe that isn't too heavy. obviously haven't tested against fire, and hope I never will, but it's a great place to store documents in hanging folders. I even keep a spare hard drive in here in case one dies in any of my computers, and needs a quick replacement.

I got this safe as a gift for my son to keep up with his important documents. I bought one years ago for myself so I was familiar with the brand %26 type of safe I needed to buy him. Excellent safe not small or too big just right size to store important documents that you don't want to get loss or stolen. I especially like that you can hang file folders inside to organize your items, this was a great plus for me. I definitely would buy it again.

I like that the box opens from the top, has plenty of space for files and a few small items. It is pretty heavy (good). What I don't like is that the latch is plastic and not very strong, the key is tiny, and the handle isn't as strong, nor as easy to open, as I would like. But on the whole ithe safe is working for our family.

The box came with no protective foam or anything. Just safe and box. There was dust from internal composition that was inside the box. Probably from being dropped and box thrown around. Also why would you put a plastic latch. The lid of safe is already hard to push down. Probably from dropping shipment. And the latch is difficult to close. This plastic latch could easily break. I am thinking of returning to store and going with a different name brand.

First let me say I have had a different SentrySafe model for at least 25 years and I am generally pretty happy with it. The locking mechanism on this model is absolute garbage. There is a plastic latching handle/mechanism that feels very cheap and brittle. At first I was even concerned that it may eventually break from the normal use of opening and closing the safe. Then I realized part of the handle has a "tab" that slides into a slot in the safe, the locking pin slides through a hole in this tab. Safes at this price point aren't really designed to be REALLY hard to break into, but I believe I could break the latching mechanism just by pulling on it really hard with my hand, certainly with a hammer. I also wonder if the lid will pop open if this plastic melts in even a minor fire. In my opinion, the designers should be ashamed. I immediately returned this item for a different model.

It's not a good safe. I just use it for document storage. I would never put anything valuable in it. The previous safe I had from this brand popped right open when dropped. When the employee from the store brought this safe to my car he basically confirmed these safes are cheap and easy to break into.

Item was delivered next day, item box was half way opened, safe box had dust on top, straps were out of plastic covering, No Lock Key enclosed!! Associate traced item from local Walmart store, It was an old used item. If the key was placed or taped inside the safe, it would not have been requested for return and full refund. Item has high rating

I bought this expecting more based on the reviews. I expected it to be 12 inches on the inside from left to right. It is slightly less than that. I also immediately noticed that the handle is made of plastic, and the locking mechanism passes through the plastic piece. The handle will melt in a fire. It's also super easy to break into if you want to. I will return when the weather clears up and I get help loading the product into my vehicle.
