if you need expensive stuff look elsewhere however... I've got two of these bad boys 1 7 ft and one 6'6" both spin rods, honestly I don't keep great care of them however over 5 years my 6 ft 6 has caught me more fish and is more comfortable for me to fish with then most of my expensive rods. the seven footer is newer for me but I've got the same quality out of it. I bought a 7-footer about 5 years ago with my six and a half foot rod and it broke trying to deck a fish but between the two for the price point I'm very happy

Shakespeare's Excursion Rods are a Gr8 value! The Excursions flat out work. Excursions are light for all day fishing. Excursion Rods cast well with a very nice whiplash action that increases ease of cast and distance. Excursions are plenty strong %26 durable, with a tough glossy finish on the rod, nice large, well anchored eyelets and durable easy to hold rubber grips. Don't exceed the lure weight specs %26 try to "bomb" it way out there. I broke a tip that way. Got another the next day!

The Shakespeare Excursion spinning rod is a beautiful fishing rod! It is a nice solid rod and looks great! I got it all set up and can't wait to use it this summer!

Great rod. Not the most sensitive but one of the best in this price range. Super strong and light enough for a long day on the water. I got it in not the 6.6 and 7. Pulls bass out the water!

I ordered 3 but one of the rods is not the one I ordered, one is a one piece bait casting rod instead of the 2 piece spinning rod I ordered.

A bit heavy on weight and action is little on the upper side. Closer to a heavy action instead of med. heavy.

I ordered 2 of these rods 1 came in excellent condition and the other came in with about 19 inches of the tip end broken completely off and several of the line guides bent. that is why I've given such a low score on everything. When it is replaced, my scores will go up to 5 stars.
