GO TO! 4c Natural Coily Curly Excellent detangler
This is a good detangler for my 4c Natural Coily Curly Hair. I love SheaMoisture products. I wish I kept using a detangler since I went completely natural (no turning back this time) in 2009. I had tried it before %26 re-relaxed - I was natural as a child because my mother didn't want us to be exposed to the poisons %26 lye in relaxers. If you want straight hair, please use a comb, hair dryer, an iron, but not relaxers to avoid increased cancer %26 uterine fibroid risks! But, anyway, this detangler makes everything easier. I co-wash with As I Am, then detangle with this SheaMoisture detangler %26 a wide tooth Goody comb. I follow up with Kinky Curly Knot Today %26 twist. My hair is so moisturized %26 soft, but not too soft. This combo is the best thing I've had since SM reformulated the JBCO leave-in cream. That was my "holy grail" (I hate using that term, but I want you to know what I mean). This is my new go to product combo. This has to be rinsed out - I wish it was a leave-in. The scent isn't too strong. I am sensitive to fragrances; SheaMoistures only uses essential oils, but it doesn't matter to my sinuses. I don't hve a problem with this one probably since I rinse it, but rinsing is an extra step.

THIS WORKS FOR ME
I titled my review as such because I know when it comes to African-American hair you really have to find what works for you. I love this detangler and also the conditioner. They both make my hair very smooth and manageable. I also tried the shampoo but did not like it.

Not good
This did not provide any slip to my daughter's hair. Definitely didn't feel like it was helping detangle her hair. It seemed like it would not absorb into her 4c hair. Won't buy again.

Authentic?
Smells different, and bottle design is different. Can't find anywhere online that they changed their design. Doubting the authenticity of this product

Trash!! Flaky Mess
The new product is trash. It was better when it was the Extra-Moisture the clear version. This mess is white and leave residue, doesn't moisturize it actually drys my hair. I'm so disappointed.
