Shurflo 24 oz Pre-Pressurized Accumulator Tank

I bought this to reduce the noise and vibration in my camper from the water pump. It worked like a charm.

Shurflo accumulator tank works great ,was easy to install. Now I don't have the hammering or poor pressure I had prior to the tank.

Works great exactly what we ordered

We were traveling in the Northern Michigan woods in our RV and our water pump was hammering and cycling a lot. Used one of these in our sailboat and ordered it on line, picking it up at a local store. Shipping was great, customer service pickup was great, and the accumulator tank did the trick!

This does not reduce the noise in the RV ans IS NOT designed for this purpose. I inflated it to 25 PSI prior to installation. Did not use the provided coupler. Instead I used two 20" speedway hose with 1/2 threaded connector. I looped the hose so these damper the vibrations. One hose at the pump outlet to the tank. The second hose from the tank to the hose I removed from the pump outlet connectes together using a M-M 1/2 brass coupler. Wrapped hoses with hose insulation and tie-wraps. The hoses make the work of cutting down the noise not the Accumulator tank. The tank reduces the frequence starts.

I would recommend adding this optional diaphragm when replacing a water pump in your RV. It has just enough water reserved so you can wash your hands without the water pump kicking on and off. Great for in the middle of the night when you just need to flush the toilet without The pump kicking on. Very easy to install with the sure flow RV pumps. It comes with the required plumbing adapter, and can be installed in any position.

Needed a small expansion tank near the 6 gallon hot water heater. The relief valve was weeping when the water heated up. This fixed the problem. Would have been 5 stars but it needs a third point for mounting to stabilize it when checking the air pressure.

I really didn't notice a difference using the accumulator tank. A Surflow Aqua King 5 gpm pump was connected to it. Even with four faucets running there was little change if any. The pump may have cycled 2-3 sec. less than before. The pressure remained the same. I removed the accumulator tank to keep things simple. Adjustments did not seem to really effect anything. On the other hand, the Aqua King 5.0 was a real improvement over their 4 gpm model. And the inline filters can't help but extend pump life.

Made the pump noise a little quieter. No appreciable difference noticed. Save your money or spend it in something more worth while.
