Solid hoop for $320. Assembly was easy, took about two hours. Some of the holes in the main pole didn't align perfectly but I was able to drill them out with a 1/2" bit to make everything line up. I installed the first two sections of the pole and then assembled the top portion with the backboard and rim. It did take two people to lift the top section into place. Worst part was digging the hole.
The part that took the longest was waiting for the concrete to cure. If you follow the instructions and have all the tools listed it really was an easy assembly. We have had 2 that were not in ground and this one went together much easier. Instructions say you need 2 capable adults and 2 eight foot ladders - you do. I am really impressed. Not just the ease of assembly but the quality overall. Height adjustment is also simple. Love it!
We just put up this basket, and it seems very nice. As sturdy as the pole is, i wish the backboard was a bit more solid or substantial. Still, for a home hoop, it is excellent. I expect many years of good fun with this product....! My son did most of the construction, and he said it wasn't too hard. I helped only at the end, where 2 folks are really needed, and it went smoothly. The instructions are relatively easy to follow, and ALL THE PARTS WERE THERE! THE RIM IS ESPECIALLY NICE! FINALLY, THE MECHANISM FOR RAISING OR LOWERING THE BASKET IS NICE AND EASY TO USE!
so we had to get help with this the guys that did it knew what they were doing so if you dont know what you are doing dont do it by the way for us this took 5 hours to set up on mothers day it was very wabbly with the concrete so jist give it a couple of days before you or you let your kids play with it.
So basically, we got the bottom pole in the ground, get it concreted, but then when we started adding the other poles and we put on the piece that holds the piston lower raise the backboard it turns out that the pole of the stickers on the pole or off like enough to wear the whole backboard is off by 2 1/2 inch an so basically, we got the bottom pole in the ground, get it concreted, but then when we started adding the other poles and we put on the piece that holds the piston to lower and raise the backboard it turns out that the pole of the stickers on the pole are off like enough to wear. The whole backboard is like off by 2 1/2 inch. and I’m
Condition of plastic backboard was not good right out of the box that had no damage. The plastic already was cracked in one corner, there is a bump near the center like it was melted which is impossible to fix and the edges were bowed out on every side. Metal was good and seems strong, was easy to put together but we unfortunately didn’t notice the back board issues until after we already had the bottom of the pole in new concrete so are stuck with it. Because of the misshape of the plastic board I would recommend glass over this material
The basketball hoop seems to be quality but there are too many issues to recommend it. The quality control just isn't there. Several of the bolts won't line up and are close to impossible to screw into place, my lower arms were about 1 inch off because where the arms rest on the bar is not level. As others have said it's very hard to line it up perfectly straight. I followed the direction and I'm probably about 1/4 inch off the center but there is no surefire way to be sure it's straight. You need to line it up best you can and hope.
This is a Christmas present for our grandson in North Carolina. I hope it will be OK. It was delivered today, November 10 and when my daughter got home, this is what the box look like. Hope all the parts and all are in there and it's not damaged. Won't know until we open it. Very disappointed ☹️
Parts were labeled incorrectly which caused the pole placed in concrete in the wrong place. Customer service was no help with sending correct poles and had to call back to get return label. They said it would be picked up as is but that was not true. Thank goodness I still had the box. Had to pack it up, knock off concrete and send it back. Don’t know about the goal but go with one or two piece pole stay away from 3 like this one.
Every time the ball goes into the net, the whole pole shakes. It was cemented into the ground before we noticed the backboard was broken a bit. I tried to get a replacement backboard but they said I have to take out the entire pole that is cemented to make the return. Guess that’s why it’s so cheap; because it really is.
