It's plastic, so it won't get dented like a previous stainless steel trash can. But it looks really good, not cheap. The metal band around the top that covers the edge is clean looking. The hinge is nicely wide so I don't see it breaking like my last one. Also, I like the pocket in the back that holds extra trash bags. It was a good choice.

I love the pink color and the easy use of this step can. The size and attractiveness makes this can a winner. I replaced an older simplehiman can because the color adds to our kitchen colors. This is our 2nd Warranty Replacement on the same Trash Can. They always structurally fail near the rod mechanism that pushes the Lid up after about 1 1/2 of Family use. The plastic cracks. Simple human has always stood behind thier Products and that is very appreciated! We will continue to purchase Simple human products due to the quality of the Product and the Warranty!

The garbage can matches my kitchen very nicely with the gold/brass accent. The can isn't as sturdy as I thought it would be. I'm used to my simple human stainless can which is heavy. This one might be better bc it prob won't get all dented up like my stainless did.
