This machine is versatile and easy to use. I bought it to make a raw-edge appliqué quilt for my granddaughter, and the pre-programmed stitch styles have been such a bonus... I also like that I have the flexibility to adjust stitch length and tension with the easy-to-use buttons on the machine. The pdf manual gives clear instructions, and the sewing table attachment makes quilting much easier, too. Great little machine and I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I bought two for my two Granddaughters…..one has had it longer and immediately starting making all kinds of make up bags with zipper, lining some then made a super cute jacket from a quilt. The other one is takin lessons but thrilled with the machine.
Purchased this as an early Christmas present for my wife - she picked it out and has been wanting to get back into sewing for a long time. I gave it to her early because she used it to make gifts for her family for Christmas. She loves it and uses it weekly.
Have now done several projects using my new Singer machine and am extremely pleased with how easy it is to operate, how through the instructions are that came with it, and the end product when I'm done sewing. Would highly recommend
(Xmas'25) Great Machine with lots of Extras for a great price! Also lightweight enough to carry for Sew-along, with the convenient cover & extension table! Love it!
I've owned many Singer machines over the years. This one is similar to the Confidence Quilter which is no longer manufactured. I use it primarily for piecing quilt tops and making fleece blankets for Project Linus. Although it's not the Confidence, it is a decent substitute.
My wife wanted to begin some light quilting and patchwork projects. This is her first sewing machine so it is taking some effort to both get into sewing and learning the machine. No manual came with machine and the online version is still creating frustrations for her. In many cases, you have to find a support video that may span multiple machines OR look at some very limited content pictures to figure out the instructions on your own. All in all, it is a learning curve but can be managed as she gets more experience and use of the machine. If you sign up for Singer emails, prepare for your inbox to be hit at least once a day! I really want them going to my wife's email but since it was a gift, they have my email. Ha ha.
I'm a beginner sewer/quilter and this machine is easy to use. Love the needle threader and top load bobbin. The one drawback and it's a big drawback for me is it does not come with a physical manual. It is digital and very hard to read and a lot to download and print.
I was checking it out and the one page instruction sheet referred to the instruction book and there wasn't one. I called Walmart.com and they contacted the third party that the machine came from and they emailed me that they didn't pack the item. The packing came from the manufacture and the foot pedal doesn't work at all. In all my years sewing, this really baffles me as the foot pedal has always worked when the machine is plugged into power. You touch it and there's a noise, but no movement, nor does the needle move.
I could immediately tell that the quality was very poor when I opened it-- everything that could be plastic was, the cords were super short, and it bigger than it needed to be but not sturdy at all. Then when I started sewing on it the stitch lengths were super inconsistent (within the same seam!) and it started to smell like burning after about 10 seconds of sewing on a thin piece of cotton at a medium speed. I ended up returning it. Awful.
