This is a great way for kids to quietly and independently do an educational activity- learning colors and counting and dinosaurs and hand eye coordination and also spatial awareness and planning (because the paths allow only one bead at a time so it takes planning to most efficiently organize the beads).
The magnetic bead mazes are relaxing and would be excellent for a person recovering from a stroke or for elderly people in a nursing home.
My kids love it. I have a 3 and 4 year old girls that are learning counting and colors. And boys 5yrs, 7yrs and 8yrs that love doing this too. Many hours of fun and it never seems to get old.
To make the magnetic pen easier to keep track of, I braided some orange parachute cord to the small looped string that is on the back of the pen. It's still easy to use the magnetic pen, even with the 18 inch light weight orange cord.
