A must for any Outdoorsman

LAMDILLIGAF September 3, 2020

I fish 30 + hours a week out of a boat in NE Texas, these are perfect for not missing a call or listening to a pod cast. When when I do yard work. Skull Candy has come out with "version 2.0" of their Indy "Evo" True Wireless In-Ear Headphones/earbuds. They have made some improvements from the previous model in this latest version. In the box you get the earbuds, charging case, USB-to-USB-C charging cable, 2 more pairs of rubber earbud parts of different sizes, 1 extra set of rubber earbud "place setters(?)", and paperwork/instructions. They come with a 2-year warranty. DISCLAIMER: I paired up these earbuds with both a Samsung Fold and a Samsung S20 Ultra for testing purposes PROS: ----------- * Biggest plus is using USB-C for charging the case! No more micro-USB. That is huge. Faster charging and easier plug-in. * They have a very low-profile look and don't stick out of your ear very far (no Frankenstein look) * Fit easily into the charging case and easily removable as well with the small rubber handle ends * Paired easily with the Samsung phones I used. * The touch controls were easy to use with voice prompts in each ear * You can use them independently of each other (1 in-ear with other in charging case).

Absolutely Amazing!

SouthernMess September 11, 2020

These are my favorite pair of headphones I've ever owned. I wasn't sure what to expect because I've never owned Bluetooth wireless headphones before but I have used the Skull Candy brand since high school so I was pretty hopeful they would be good quality. They knocked it out of the park with these. While I don't have experience using Apple's AirPods, I can't see why they would be worth the extra money. These headphones work flawlessly and the touch controls are easy to use once you get them memorized. The case it comes with works well and they charge easily. Everything is very convenient and small so it's easy to store and travel with. It can all easily fit in your pocket or even a small evening clutch. The sound works very well and I love how my music sounds on these. I actually had to mentally remind myself not to belt along because no one else can hear the music and I'd probably just sound crazy. They are pretty dang soundproof too. I learned the first day I used them that I can't even hear my 3 kids when they are fighting with each other in the same room I'm in if I have these in. Definitely pretty good at noise canceling! They come with easy to use instructions and multiple ear pieces. They fit my ears perfectly right out of the box. Overall I'm incredibly happy with these and I may need to order a pair for my husband too so I don't have to share. I'd highly recommend these!

Superb Quality! Very Long Battery Life!

HappyHome September 27, 2020

We love everything about these Indy XT Evo earbuds by Skullcandy! This will be a long review because I want to talk about all the awesome features of these earbuds as well as give some helpful tips (especially for those not very knowledgeable about technology). I'm not super tech savvy, but my husband is, and even he is impressed by the quality and features of these awesome earbuds! They come with three sizes (s, m, l) of ear gels (the rubbery things that wrap around the tiny speakers and go inside your ear canals), and two sizes (s, l) of stability ear gels (the rubbery things that sit on the outside of your hear, helping to hold a slight tension so the earbuds don't fall out). These earbuds can fit a wide variety of ear sizes. You may have to fiddle with the different combinations of sizes until you get a good fit that's not uncomfortable, but that will keep the earbuds in your ears. We found a perfect individual size combination for my husband, myself, and each of my 5 kids, and we found that regardless of ear size and shape, you can make these fit your ear. I will note that my 16 year old daughter found them uncomfortable regardless of what we tried, but she may just be sensitive to earbuds or have unusually small ears. It also comes with a USB-C charging cord. You plug this into the case (while the earbuds are in the case) and plug the other end into a computer, laptop, or USB plug/outlet/charger. The only negative thing I'd note is that the cord is super small- just a couple inches. We bought a longer charging cord to use. When fully charged, the earbuds hold 6 hours of battery charge, and there's an additional 24 hours of battery charge in the case, for a total of 30 hours! So if you're at work, hiking, or out and about, fully charge your earbuds and case before you leave home. You'll get to use the earbuds for 6 hours before the battery goes out. Then you can place them in your case (in your purse, pocket, or desk drawer) and charge them using just the case! This is such a cool feature! And it's fast too! 10 minutes in the case and you now have 2 more hours of battery (or 30 minutes for the full 6 hours that the earbuds can hold at one time). And you can do this 4 times, for a max of 24 hours of battery life stored in the case. We've tested these times, and there really is 30 hours of total battery life! When you first get them, they will be about half charged already so you can try them out right away. "Pairing" (or connecting) them to your phone is super easy and took us less than a minute on our Android phones (Motorola and Alcatel). Simply put the earbuds in the case and take them out again to automatically activate "pairing mode". Then turn Bluetooth on in your phone, and click on Indy Evo, and click Pair. (Menus on different phones may be different, but the steps are still super simple and straight forward.) I can do everything with these earbuds! I can listen to podcasts, music, watch/listen to videos, and even answer phone calls! With a large family and lots of noise and constant activity, these earbuds are really helpful and way better than trying to hear the speaker on my phone in a loud bustling house. The audio quality is absolutely superb for music, and crystal clear on both ends for phone calls. There are 3 EQ modes: music, movies, and podcast, so you can personalize the audio to your liking based on what you're listening to. You can control lots of things from your earbuds with just a tap on either earbud itself! Most of it is completely intuitive, but there's a little chart included in the instructions that tell you exactly which side to tap (and how many times and for how long), to control various things like: answer or end calls, volume up or down, EQ mode, track back or forward, voice assistant, play and pause, etc. It seemed overwhelming at first, but it's really easy and convenient once you get the hang of it. I can have my phone in my pocket while running, or on the counter in my kitchen while doing the dishes, or in my purse when I'm taking a walk, and I don't have to access my phone to control my audio. I can just tap on my earbuds and control everything from volume of music, to answering and ending calls. Keep in mind that you may accidentally tap on your earbuds and inadvertently change the controls if you do things like play with your hair, scratch your ear, etc. Just do your best to avoid the earbuds. I've accidentally put the volume up/down, and ended calls by inadvertently touching/tapping on them. Some other cool things... They are sweat, water and dust resistant, so my husband can take them on runs and to the gym and I don't have to worry about them getting ruined from his excessive sweat. They are easy to clean with baby wipes or antibacterial wipes. Also, they do a great job of cancelling out other noise while you listen to something. However, if you aren't listening to anything and want to hear the noise around you (and waiting for a phone call), you can put them on "ambient mode" to hear what's going on around you, and it's just like not having them in at all. You can also just set these up to use only one earbud if you'd prefer, and you can use an app called Tile to locate your earbuds if you lose them. We've had these earbuds for a few weeks now and myself as well as several family members (even several kids!) have used these earbuds all day, every day and they still look and work like new. They have stood up to very rough and constant use, and they really are heavy duty! They sound quality is absolutely amazing, super crisp and clear regardless of what you're listening to. This is now at the top of everyone's Christmas and birthday wish lists, because everyone wants their own pair! I would highly recommend these earbuds to anyone! For the busy mom who listens to podcasts while cleaning, for runners and people who work out and listen to music, for kiddos who listen to audio books, for college students taking online courses, or a multitasking person who has to answer calls and work simultaneously, etc. Anyone who is looking for affordable, very high quality ear buds will absolutely love these! (I received this product as part of the Spark Reviewer Program.)

Awesome Earbuds!

Sandnsea January 17, 2021

I love these earbuds. Fist of all, they paired very easily with my phone. They have multiple sizes of ear gels (the little part that goes into your ears). That's great for me because I have an issue with uncomfortable ear buds that keep falling out of my ears. These are both very comfortable, and they stay put no matter how much I move. The sound quality is excellent in both ears. I appreciate the option to listen to either side by itself. I have no issue with the volume level. In fact, I can't listen to it at its loudest. So if you like your earbuds very loud, but without quality distortion, I think you would like these. Another great feature is, it has a Tile built in. So if I lose them, it shouldn't be too difficult to find them. They charge quickly, and the charge lasts a long time. Lastly, I love the way they look. I couldn't ask for more from a pair of ear buds. I highly recommend them!

Great earbuds!

AuKay October 1, 2020

I've been using this for quite some time and really love how they lasted a long time before needing to charge the entire case. I use this when I exercise and at night to watch videos. The sound quality is great, not the best out there but it's good for what it's worth. I had to switch to the smaller earpieces because the standard ones are a bit too big for me. They are comfortable enough, and only start hurting when the top piece of the buds rub against my ears if I wear over 4 hours. That top piece also makes it hard to close the case tight somehow. I had no trouble connecting my buds to my iPhone & I even downloaded the app to adjust the setting, mainly ambience mode. I find it a bit difficult to adjust the EQ modes with the touch control on the buds. So far I haven't had any disconnection issue after leaving my phone in the house to walk to the backyard, so that's a plus.

Great sound

MissMeg September 14, 2020

PROS: -sound quality is great -they actually stay in my ears without falling out -small enough to be discrete and hidden behind my hair CONS: -the charge didn't last as long as it had stated on the box OVERALL: These are a great pair of headphones at a great price point. Although the charge didn't last as long as it had stated on the box, I still got plenty of use out of them before they needed recharged so I was fine with that.

SERIOUS PAIRING PROBLEMS

Bella May 5, 2021

I've been through quite a few earbuds in the past 3 years and I always keep looking for the ideal pair. Its not easy for me because i have small ears. Standard earbud sizes cause pain after only wearing them for short periods. So earbud size options tends to be my first criteria - because no matter how awesome the sound and performace its useless to me if I cant wear them. Thankfully the Skull Candy Indy XT had a size option that could fit my untypical ears. My 2nd criteria is not music - its voice quality during phone calls. I use my earbuds constantly throughout the day for business. So its important that there is clarity on both ends. These earbuds are clear on voice calls even though there doesn't seem to be any noise cancelling capabilities. That alone was worth it for me And music sound is pretty good too. At first i was very disappointed with the total lack of bass, but this improved dramatically once I used the included earbud tips with the hooks. That aligned the buds properly in my ear canal and kept them firmly in place. And one cool feature: I was able to connect the earbuds to my Tile app. Not very useful since the buds cannot emit a loud enough sound to be audibly located...but a cool feature nevertheless. Heres the lowdown: PROS - Ear buds can operate individually. - Good bass when positioned correctly - Various equalization options - Ambient mode - Fits small ears - Connects to Tile CONS - Serious sync and reconnection problems. I now use them in solo mode because it's a nightmare getting them both connected. - Mediocre battery life - No noise cancelling The earbuds are great when they're properly paired. But because they have such a problematic pairing or reconnection issue, I've resorted to using my other earbuds instead.

Only one ear pod works

Tina April 11, 2021

I gave these a one star rating because only one ear pods work at a time. You have to connect each one to your phone but I could only hear sound out of one ear when I did have them connected. Also it loses connection quite often and I have my phone in my hand. The ear pods are kinda bulky so it was hard for me to keep them in my ears. These just Didn't work well for me at all..
