Some reviewers complained about the consistency of this soap...yes, I have used thicker soap before from a competing brand, but that stuff always tends to gunk of the pump anyway. This soap does the job; the kids just can't handle using bar soap like us old folks, they have to have their little liquid soap pumper.
arrived on time and the packaging was fine. nothing spilled or leaking. the product itself is that of typical hand soap. it's not runny or watery at all. I was weary of the scent at first afraid it would smell like chemicals but that's not the case. it smells just like lemons to me. it's a good product buy.
I have used Softsoap many times but this is the first time I have bought the Citrus scent. I like it very much. It's not so strong that it's irritating but is just a mild lemon scent which I like particularly in the bathroom and kitchen. The name Softsoap really describes this product. The soap is creamy and smooth. I have bought other, more expensive liquid soaps but always come back to this one because it is everything I like in a hand soap and it's affordable. Another plus is that I can use it not only in my usual soap dispenser but in the "foamy" dispenser by adding the soap and some water.
I like that its been in stocknit smells really good. What do not like is the limit and due to the pandemic. We are force to hurry and checkout before it goes out stock and charged $5.99 for shipment.
It's soap. Does what it should. Price is reasonable. I have a 3 yo that thinks the soap dispenser is a fun toy so we go through a lot of soap. We prefer the clear soap and not the cloudy, opaque stuff, so this is a good alternative. Scent is mild, which I like, but not really a citrus scent in my opinion.
So....I know this is faint praise, but this soap is ok. Worth the low price and quick shipping. I bought this because soap refills seem to be out of stock everywhere, just as we're using more soap than ever. It's watery with a very faint "citrus" scent. This would never be my first choice, but it's a decent back up. PS Walmart: for crying out loud, ship this wrapped in a plastic bag, in the box! Mine came with a crushed neck; I'm lucky that it didn't explode on my other items.
This is the second item I have received in a Walmart shipment that has arrived broken/cracked. The first time was a candle in a glass jar; this plastic bottle didn't survive Walmart's flimsy packing standards. The neck is bent/crushed beyond repair but still can pour the contents out, I think. I've had to scramble, searching the house for a cap that will fit this plastic bottle of hand soap because as a refill, it will not be used immediately or entirely in one dispense. Nothing in the box was packed in a protected fashion. No taping of the bottle cap, no peanuts, foam, cardboard nests, nothing to protect the contents at all so the contents floated around and got tossed from the time that it was packed, shipped, loaded into the delivery truck, and finally tossed onto my neighbor's front door--the delivery people just can't seem to get that right either. What remained of the cap must've been sealed to the bottle opening because there was very little spilled.
After using this for a couple weeks, I have a couple comments: 1. The scent is not what I hoped. It has a very fleeting citrus scent that quickly disappears and is overwhelmed by a strong perfume smell. If you like hanging around the perfume counter in a department store, you might like it. The odor will make other people gag a bit. 2. This is NOT an antibacterial soap, as some people have said, but this is a good thing! The label is a bit misleading, but in fact you do not need, and should probably not use soaps with antibacterial ingredients to wash away bacteria. If perfume smells bother you, do not buy this product.
I dont know if I just got a bad batch, but supposedly refreshing citrus is actually an off-putting musky/BO-like smell - at least to me. And perhaps some will enjoy the musky scent, but I dont. Im trying to dilute it with fabuloso a little to cut the smell.
Like others are reporting, this is watery/runny and not at all like any other Softsoap I've used in the past three or four decades. The scent is also sub-par. The price was inexpensive and I still feel like I overpaid. I would NEVER purchase this product and advise others to avoid if at all possible.
