We got the changing table and the dresser together and we are very pleased! We didn't want to spend a lot of month and I feel like this set was well worth the money! It came undamaged and when we put it together we found it to be very strong and sterdy, doesnt look like cheap furntiure!! Very pleased now we just need the baby to come so we can really try it out!!
We bought this b/c we don't have a lot of money and wanted a changing table that was not just an open shelf changer that would later become useless. This model was cheap enough to afford and styled enough to be used as a dresser for my child as she gets older. It is pressed wood with a cardboard backing but it is quite sturdy once assembled (roughly 70lbs). I bought espresso which is a dark dark brown that i totally love. Assembly time is roughly two hours b/c of all the pieces. It does have an odor when you first open the box but after it was assembled for a day the smell went away. It does not come with a changing pad but i bought the summer infant contour pad from walmart and it fits fine with about an 1" gap left to right. Very happy with purchase.
This was a gift from my mother in law for our newest addition. (I did pick it out though) It is a very great price for what seems to be a very sturdy piece of furniture! It is the perfect height for a changing table. (I'm 5'8 so most others seemed to short for me, but not this one!) our only complaint is the directions were not clear at all. It was just a drawing diagram and had no words or ways to see which side (the white or the wood) went up or down. It took my husband and I a total of about 4 hours by the time we had to go back and reverse a couple mistakes. If I had it to do over I would still definitely purchase this changing table but I believe I would let Walmart put it together....The assembly time is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
The wood quality was good. Directions for assembly were vague, need more written directions and not just pictures. My husband put a heavier piece of wood on the back to make the unit sturdier and braced each of the drawer bottoms for the same reason. Nice pulls on the drawers.
I looked at countless options for changing tables. All were a little more than I wanted to spend and built with chinsy material. Granted this is not made out of solid wood, but it is solidly made. It won't tip over when the drawers are open. It won't wobble when the baby gets fussy. It's design makes it look higher end. The only thing I worry about is the durability of the drawer bottoms, but because we are only storing baby clothes and blankets in it there might not be any problems. It did take a little effort to put together because the pictures aren't completely clear and there aren't any written instructions to add clarity. Take your time assembling or you might miss steps. I didn't have any problems with broken pieces like some reviews stated. However, you definitely will want to inspect all the pieces before assembly because once this goes together it is not built to be taken apart again. I did like the inclusion of a brown marker. It does sound like a cheap fix to scratches, but I slipped tightening down a screw and the marker concealed the small scratch well enough to not draw attention. That said the changing table/dresser combo works for me in my one bedroom apartment. I don't have a lot of space for lots of baby furniture so this was perfect. Good luck finding what works for you!
I actually just put the changing table together half an hour ago, it looks amazing! I haven't put it to use yet but it looks and feels sturdy enough! The only complaint I have is it took 4 hrs to get done! Well worth the money though if u ask me.
Turned out way darker then my esspresso crib from Target so they don't match at all. One of the pieces of wood had a crack in it. And the draws have cheap plastic rails that don't slide berry well. But it is to much hassle after putting it together to do anything about it so I will make it work.
It looks very nice once assembled. The directions are not very clear and several parts were missing to put it together. Very frustrating. It would be more helpful to have some written instruction as well. Someone at the manufacturer should double check to make sure there are enough screws, nails etc to put it together. I'm glad we didn't just give the box to our granddaughter unassembled. Fortunately we had extra parts needed or improvised.
Bought the item as a set with the 4-drawer chest and changing table. Extremely disappointed. The drawers are all crooked, the items are flimsy and starting to chip. Plus they were both(especially the changing table) EXTREMELY hard to assemble. The pictures are awful, no up or down directions, they change pictures referring to the same item from one page to the next. Lastly, the knobs don't even go in right. We will have to purchase separate knobs for all the drawers. I am so disappointed, don't have much money and invested in these items for my first newborn nursery. Wish I had never gotten it.
Bought it a month ago and had to take the drawers out because they would not stay together. We never used the drawers, but had to consistently put them back on the tracks and put them back together. No wieght in drawers whatsoever. Save yourself the time and money.
