Spalding 60-Inch Portable Basketball Hoop with Acrylic Backboard, Screw Jack Lift & Arena Slam Rim-Outdoor Play

Once we got the goal put together, it was great! It took us at least 8 hours over 2 days. We had some trouble getting the pole pieces to fit together and that took quite a bit of time. Once we got those three pieces together, the rest of the assembly was pretty straight-forward. My husband had to google videos for a few things because the directions aren't super clear in some areas. Make sure to get all of the pieces facing the way they need to. We put 450 lbs. of playground sand in the base and it seems to holding it pretty steady. We may also put some blocks on the base to make sure it doesn't tip over. The rim height is easy to adjust. We didn't think about this until it was too late, but because the backboard is clear, the afternoon sun shines through and makes it a little difficult to pay. I wish we had thought about it before we put it where we put it...which was our only option of where to put it. Something to think about...

Pros - 1. Delivered by next day morning. Amazing Delivery service. 2. Excellent price. can't beat this anywhere Cons - 1. pretty much banged up carton. Torn and parts appearing outside. Not sure if all the parts are there or any dropped out I am yet to install it, so can't review the quality of it yet.

While this basketball hoop is awesome, and I mean all the neighbors turn their head awesome, be aware! This thing is super TOP HEAVY!!! You will definitely need TWO people to assemble and to put it in its place when lifting!!! In addition to filling with water or sand, you will also need to get at least Two large boulders or a few bags of sand to place on top of the base to weigh it down. Filling it will not be enough as I previously said, this thing is super TOP HEAVY!!! Good luck!

The items included to put this thing together were all over the place! We had to search the bags to find what went where. They were not lettered correctly. The 3 poles didn’t fit as intended, we had to pick up the darn things %26 slam them against a board to even get them to budge as well as add WD40 so they could slide in! My dad had to use a drill to so that the screw could fit! The manufacturer dropped the ball on this one. For all our trouble, we should have got this at half price!

The base came with a hole in it, so the water drained out. The hoop fell over and broke the rim off. I used it for a few days and it was great up until then. I had planned to put in sand, but didn't get to Home Depot in time. Backboard didn't crack so hoping to get a replacement hoop.

Poles did not fit together. Instructions were horendous. Customer Service was totally uncooperative and did nothing to help. They sent replacement parts and they were incorrect. If I sent you a copy of the customer service email even you would be angry

The assembly is way too hard the square tubing is hard to assemble together also the handle to raise the goal is too long to rotate not worth the time and effort just buy the one that's in the store better price and less hassle

Crappy product. The base is so flimsy, missing parts, some nuts and bolts. We had a hard time to put this together and stand it up with sand bags. The side support beams broke off from the base and its lying on my driveway. Wonder if I can return this without the box and get something that actually works.

I would rate this a zero if possible. The base for the hoop is made of such a cheap plastic it cannot support the weight of the hoop, so it leans to the point that i am afraid it will eventually fall over, especially on a hot day. Do not waste your money.

Do not buy this. It looks fantastic, but is poorly designed. We had light winds and the system fell over, the base bent in half and cracked at the bottom as we tried to set it back upright. I contacted Spalding and it is not covered by the 1-year warranty. The base is not big enough or heavy enough to anchor a 60" backboard. Moving it is risky as the black plastic seems prone to breaking. Spalding offered to sell me another base at $300. I didn't pay that for the entire system. Do yourself a favor and spend a little bit more money on another system from another company with better-designed products.
