I purchasrd this forva friend who kept rolling out of bed and injuring herself. After evaluating all the similar devices, this is the one that gives the most coverage to the side of the bed, when extended fully. However, the rails can be pulled back to allow a person to get out of bed to use the facilities, or begin her day. She reported no more falls from the bed. Definitely worth the money!

We got this bed rail for my dad and its great... the only thing is when its folded down it has a metal part that can hurt the back of your leg when you go to get out bed.

This bed rail is sturdy and easy to install. I purchased it because I have a tendency of rolling out of bed . I won't be anymore. As a retired nurse I think it's pretty comparable with hospital rails.

It was is easy to assembly, it fit nicely under our adjustable mattress. It folds all the way down, when you make the bed. It extends out so at night it covers more bed area.

I needed this because I have very active dreams and move around a bit while sleeping. I have woken to find myself falling from the bed. I hit my head on the nightstand once. This has stopped these falls. Added bonus is it you can pull yourself out of bed real easy with it. Folds down out of the way for bed making. Really well thought out product, worth the 80 bucks

The item is good it's self but it is not very sturdy. It has a strap that connects it to the bed, which makes it easy to pull out or move the rail. My cousin fixed it tho he drilled holes in it and attached it to the metal part of the baseboard of the bed. If you have a handyman in your family, it's great. If not, let's say it's not very durable.

Cannot be used while in the bed. So self sufficiency is not a possibility! The bar is difficult to drop down for people with arthritic fingers. It is so long that you cannot leave it in the up position and getting into the bed is very difficult to maneuver your body around the rail.

It might be ok for some users but they need to be certain their bed is high from the floor for it work. I have a bed which is low enough that when you lower the rail it can't go all the way down without landing on the floor... We were careful how we handled the rail so as to not damage it ok. I do need to return it and look for a different rail to stop my husband from falling off the bed. He is 95 years old and I don't want him to keep falling and break something. Thank you

The bed rail is impossible to lower by the person in the bed. It is also very uncomfortable to sit on when the rail is down. I do not suggest purchasing it.

The instructions state that the rail will is only safe to use on a 12 to 16 inch mattress. Any thing less is unsafe! This was not made clear in the sale pitch!
