Staples #9 Standard Business Gummed Envelopes 500/Box (247650/19255)

Perfect for our annual appeal mailing! Sure, we needed to take the extra step to seal each, but that was quick work with a moist sponge. Worth the savings and prevention of seal strips from the trash stream!

When asked to review my purchase of Staples #9 Standard Business Gummed Envelopes 500/Box I thought "Wow what an honor! Perhaps someone has finally realized that I am an expert with office supplies after all these years!"Having said that I have to say that they are a useful part of my office supplies arsenal. They are used regularly on Fridays as a privacy measure when handing out pay checks.

These are needed when sending out information for clients to send on - -as they fit inside the #10 envelopes. Not sure why they are so much more expensive than #10 envelopes - but they are needed if doing mailings where you have info to send out or back

#9 Envelopes are hard to find and the staff at Staples went out of their way to find these for us. We need these envelopes for our project and were happy to be taken care of. The only dislike - they are gummed and need to be "licked." but the price was good. Thank you Staples.

I would have loved to have been able to get a smaller size quanity of #9 envelopes. Staples offered packages of #10 envelopes that they bundled up for customers why not #9's? I needed these badly so was forced to buy the box of 500. Now I have to store these in limited space office & they will last for years. Just would have been nice since they didit for the 10's.

These envelopes are made of bright white paper. However it is not very weighty nor are they cut cleanly. There are cuts that are jagged not straight. For the price it seems the paper could be a little heavier and the cuts on all the edges should be straight and even. I would expect this quality from a discount store - not Staples.

The envelopes in and of themselves were fine. However I was disappointed that Staples had only one option for #9 envelopes. Since I purchased them from Staples in the past I know there was at one time a better selection. The envelopes were not the one I wanted but ultimately served the purpose.

I placed an order online for 1-hour pickup the inventory said they had 6 in stock (I needed 8) - so I ordered all 6. Went to pick up and they only had 5 (which they had locked in a cupboard that they couldn't open) - what a pain. I ended up having to drive to another Staples store to get two more boxes. (Again online the inventory said they had 3 - but when I got there they only had 2) Not sure where the disconnect is between online inventory and actual amounts but this needs to be addressed!

The #9 gummed envelopes are the correct size for our use: Return envelopes stuffed inside a #10 mailing. However the gummed edges are already sticking (perhaps due to moisture). This occurred almost immediately upon use. Maybe a bad batch! I suggest you make them will peel seals.

I was unhappy with how flimsy and see-through these #9 envelopes are. The whole point of including this size envelope in another mailing is to make it easy for people to send back PAYMENTS and with these #9's I can actually read the checks through the thin paper! Yikes! I looked for security #9's but the only ones I could find also had windows. I needed solid ones and didn't have enough time to track down another option. I was nervous about using these and some of our donors used their own envelopes instead.
