Changing my choice for the better.

Multitalented1 May 15, 2026

I finally stopped cheating myself, due to the price of albacore tuna, verses the regular varieties of pouches I frequently buy. This was the best decision I made this year. The price is what kept me away, but it's actually worth it. The texture was firm and hearty. So not only did I increase my protein consumption, I prepared a dish with this tuna, I was proud to serve. It was delicious! Not only because of the addition of ingredients used with my cooking expertise, but the taste and quality of the tuna was the real star.

Much Better Brand then All the Rest.

MARCYVK July 10, 2026

This tuna is the BEST. It's usually on rollback so its budget friendly almost all the time. The tuna is firm, large pieces and not salty. The cans do not have a lot of water with the tuna and that is a good bargain too. You can make tuna salad, put it in a green-leaf salad, pasta. One of the comfort foods I like is the mac and cheese with a can of this tuna. Sometimes I add peas and carrots. Makes me think of my mom from a time when Tuff Skins were a thing for kids. Super Bonus: 100% better than the GV albacore!!

The Chunk White tuna is the same taste and color as the Solid White albacore tuna. However, the difference is that the Chunk White is loosely packed while same in appearance as the Chunk Light tuna. This allows you to get the look and taste of all albacore at less cost!

Flakey not mushy

Kathryn April 30, 2026

It's good tuna, solid white, not mush. I find the others way to mushy texture, this one is solid and flakes, makes a good sandwich. I appreciate in water vs oil and less sodium can't hurt.

This is my go to tuna! I've been eating StarKist tuna since I was old enough to sing along with the jingle! I love the great flavor and texture! Makes the best tuna sandwiches!

Solid Tuna

PG May 14, 2026

I chose this type of tuna because it's rich in proteins and a low calorie intake. And it tastes amazing with salad and if you like bread 🍞 it's good as a sandwich, but of course with any type of mayonnaise.

Can mislabeled.

TerTer02 April 20, 2026

The description on the can says “White Solid Albacore”. there was nothing solid about the tuna in the cans I received. They were chunks and small chunks. None of the tuna was solid. It was very close to mush.. Do NOT trust the labeling of this brand.

Too disgusting for human consumption

Chase July 3, 2026

This is NOT for human consumption!! It looks and smells like cat food!! I think it has been mislabeled. I opened 2 cans. Both looked and smelled gross. They had black stuff in them (possibly fish skin). There were MANY scales in each can. Too many to pick out. And it tastes extremely strong and disgusting. After I got it home, I read the back and label carefully and realized that 1oz out of each 5oz can's weight is ‘broth'. So even though it's less expensive than other brands, it not even a bargain.

They don't make it like they used to.

John June 5, 2026

I've been eating Starkist for over 5 decades, it's changed. Doesn't taste like normal tuna. doesn't even look like all tuna, I think its mixed with something else. But that's just my opinion, be your own judge. My cat won't even eat it, but he'll eat other brands.
