Sterilite File Box, Clear Plastic Bin with Black Lid, Letter or Legal-sized File Storage, Black

I needed a PLASTIC (not cardboard) storage container with sealing lid that would hold hanging files that I need to keep in cold storage away from critters for 10 years-- financial documents and tax papers. This is EXACTLY what I needed. I hoped it existed, and it did, and Walmart had it. Thanks.

Needed a file to finally organize my bills and paperwork for taxes. This file box, along with the hanging folders, is making it so much easier for me. And after my tax filing is done, I can just leave everything in place and store it in case I get audited! In past years I just threw everything into a plastic bin (and last year the IRS needed a clarification and I had to dig and sort to find what they were asking for... never again!).

These clear base totes are very sturdy and made with a thick and almost rubber- like “flex” rather than like some plastics so rigid they are brittle which crack and break. I was also pleasantly surprised when I realized they had tracks so that legal or standard files can be suspended as in the attached photos. I was equally pleased with the seller’s customer service regarding shipping and handling arrangements. Excellent product and service.

Honestly, I LOVE these boxes. I keep buying them because they are the perfect solution for what I've been looking for. Unfortunately, one lid did arrived cracked/damaged, so I do have to go in and return that one, but other than that.. great boxes. The lid snaps on tight. The files stay on the track well. They stack nicely. and I like how the lid bows up JUST a bit.

I like the size if this container. It holds many different things other than files! I like storing the kids winter coats in a single clear case so I can find and see them clearly. I also like that the top secures well. No latches. It stacks great too.

I love this size bin whether it's for traditional filing, or art supplies, or books, even fav Christmas treasures... they are sturdy and very versatile, and because of the size, it's easy for me to handle as it doesn't get too heavy to carry. Although I add a label to the side and top of each bin, being clear is an added benefit to easily see what's inside, The price is also excellent, less than $10, and the lid has a great snap for a tight fit! These sturdy bins are also a great space saver, plus I don't have to hunt through a large bin to find things. I use these bins for storage on tubular metal shelves, garage shelves, closet shelves etc

I love these so much better than big old filing cabinets. They fit great in the bottom of the closet. Just be careful and check the lids when they get delivered. Before I store away, I always cut a piece of cardboard the size of the lid if I stack them for long term storage It can also be used for letter or legal hanging files. You can also get the wide pocket hanging files, I use to organize sewing patterns.

I really like this file box since I can use it for either letter or legal sized hanging folders. But when I received my order of two, one of the lids had the edge broken off. Seemed strange unless it had been mishandled prior to shipping to me? Or dropped and hit the edge -- but just one of the lids.

This is the second time we ordered Sterilite storage containers from Walmart on line. Both times at least one of the boxes arrived damaged due to poor packaging and brute shipper handling. Walmart gave us credit at the store for the broken voices, but, what a hassle! Put some decent packing around them!!

I didnt realize how flimsy these bins are! the first shipment arrived, and when i opened the box, there were little pieces of plastic tumbling around inside because the bins and lids were cracked and shattered in several places. They very kindly sent replacements which arrived in just a couple of days. I opened the SECOND box, and they were broken too! I dont think the shippers were unusually rough, because there was NO damage to either of the boxes. Unfortunately, they wouldn't send onother replacement, but submitted a refund that i may get in 10 days or so.
