I LOVE these totes and wish Walmart would get them back in the physical stores. They can take a pretty good beating but they will break. I had to buy a 6 count box for delivery and 2 of the 6 were broken. I need these badly. They are out of stock now. I believe I got the last box. I know sometimes the totes get broken in transit so I don't want to get them less than 5 stars.
Absolutely love this. It was the perfect size for the cat food. I was trying to find the right storage for it and the amount of pounds that there was which was approximately 35 pounds of cat food and it only filled a little bit of the storage container super happy with it. We will probably order another one soon.
This worked great for the first month or so and then it got a crack in it. I was using it to degrease animal skulls and bones, so I was filling it up with soapy water. I think the weight of the water eventually cracked it. I guess it isn't sturdy enough for taxidermy, but this would probably work fine if you're looking to store lighter weight items like blankets, clothing or toys.
These bins are great, but they always arrive broken, or not at all. I order these bins several times a year, typically 6-10 at a time. Often half the order doesn't get delivered (they do refund me). I also commonly receive a damage lid or tote. These are probably best picked up in store. Bins themselves are a 5 out of 5
I already had a number of these exact containers, and just ordered what would match. It wasn't until after I placed the order that I read all the reviews on broken containers and wished I would have ordered somewhere else. The problem is that Sterilite sends these to Walmart in a box meant for retail distribution, not for shipping through the normal consumer channels. Walmart then ships these in the same box, with absolutely no padding or packing materials, by Fed Ex. Now I understand that Fed Ex might be perfectly fine in some places, but they are not where I live. Where I live, it's like they invent their own Olympic events purposely trying to break your stuff just for the satisfaction it gives them. But it is in their basic shipping guidelines that shippers are responsible for sufficiently packaging their goods. So that's where this becomes Walmart's fault. When I opened the box, I could immediately see stress evidence on one of the lids. The grey corners had white splotches where the plastic had been stressed or bent to a great degree. I've had these exact bins for over 10 years now. NONE of them have ever shown this, so Fed Ex is obviously tossing and dropping this box on all its corners with some real force. So it was absolutely no surprise when I got to the bottom and found some bins had shattered, too. Even the ones the arrived intact are questionable as to how long they'll hold up, given Sterilite makes it clear they're not meant to withstand this kind of treatment. Come on, Walmart. I get that this is a drop in the bucket for a multi-billion dollar company, but you're literally paying money just to break this stuff, make it unusable for anyone else, and then when it inevitably gets returned, I'm sure it just goes into a landfill. Have some corporate responsibility and either negotiate that Sterilite provides some of these prepacked for domestic shipping, or repack the bins yourself. The amount of waste visible in these reviews is vulgar.
I like the handles on these bins, but they are not very sturdy. I ordered five 6-packs, and 6 bins arrived cracked and unusable. I looked for some in the store as well, and several of the ones on the shelves already had small cracks near the top. Next, of the five packs I ordered, two were completely black, not clear with a gray lid. Not sure how that's possible, seeing as the description, title, and pictures all show clear with gray lid... Finally, they are often out of stock in stores and online. (Walmart issue, not Sterilite)
Items arrived but 4 of the lids and three of the containers were broken or cracked. Also, the bins were left outside in the rain without being packed in anything so they got rained on.
Placed order from store in Wetumpka, AL to be delivered. 1 handle is missing on both totes I ordered. Is a shame that the employees who select products can't look to see a handle is missing on not 1 but both they picked to deliver to me. The amount paid both these should have come with no issues. I was not at home during time of delivery. I can't even secure what I packed away because of missing handles. I ordered 3 more of these several weeks prior, and the 2 of the totes were busted at the handle. Walmart did refund and send new ones that were in great condition. I will be contacting Walmart about these as well. These totes should be sturdy and would be if handles were not missing. I pay for Walmart plus and do expect that what I order and pay for comes in great condition without continued issues.
Three of the six totes were damaged beyond use. Lids are not damaged. Do not recommend ordering these for delivery.
I just like the fact that it wasn't the bottom bin or even the top bin it was a bin in the middle of the other five bins in the stacks that were busted, so two out of 12 for busted
