I stay cold and have some medical problems that are helped by heat. I knew my other one was going out so this is a replacement. I didn't realize how bad my old was until I crawled under this new one. I bought this one because of the material and past history with this brand name. So far I am a satisfied customer.
Wonderful - got us through the bitter cold snap in Tennessee. Our home wasn't designed for extreme cold weather, so when we heard the temperature was going down for several days straight, we jumped on this blanket. The full length was quite adjustable, we were able to keep it on low!
I can't stop buying these. So far, I've purchased 3 at full price. They are perfect for our needs and get incredibly warm (watch out kids and older folks). Sunbeam is a name I can trust. Love the 5 year warranty and the adjustable timer! That's new. We recently replaced two VERY old Sunbeam heated blankets with these. These are cheaper than any twin sized blanket I can find elsewhere. My only complaint is that there is only one color option. Grey is not my favorite but I'll deal with it to save $10!
Sherpa blankets get nappy and lose their softness so I was really happy to find this fleece one. It's also one of the few that will stay on for 12 hrs. The wires are in the middle of the blanket so consider that when you order your size. The heat doesn't stay as warm all night. It's quite warm for hours but by morning it will be cooler. The fleece has stayed soft and wonderful.
It wasn't clear in the listing that the heated blanket would have two plugs and require two outlets. It likely would have impacted my decision to purchase this particular model
took a bit longer than expected to reach top warmth, but it does get warm enough to keep you that way, even if temps fall between 55-60F indoors. Add a light weight "mainstays" blanket on top and it can even get too warm, but can reach temp needed even at heat setting 6.
I am a disabled customer who relies on delivery because I do not drive and do not have access to a printer. I purchased the theater blanket and it only worked for two days before breaking. When I tried to return it, I discovered Walmart's return process requires customers to either drive to a drop-off location or print a label—neither of which I can do. With a paid Walmart membership, I expected a more accessible return option. Instead, I'm now stuck with a broken item and no workable way to send it back. This has been extremely disappointing and has made me feel like customers with disabilities were not considered in the return process. Had I known this, I would not have made the purchase. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider shopping with Walmart.
I ordered this on September 10 of this year and it has already stopped working. I haven't contacted the company yet but I'm hoping they will honor the 5 year warranty . If it had torn up just a few days sooner I could've simply returned through Walmart instead of having to deal with Sunbeam.
The 1st night, it worked great. The 2nd night, the %23's on the control began flashing. i unplugged it for a few minutes, plugged it into the electric outlet again (which by the way had a small lamp plugged in %26 the light was working fine) %26 it was back to normal. The 3rd night, the %23's on the control began flashing. i tried unplugging several times. The %23's continued to flash %26 it would not heat up. Very disappointing as I purchased for my husband who is having severe hip surgery, but isn't a candidate for surgery. He loved the heat - it eased his pain. I returned it %26 got my money back. I do NOT recommend this product.
After using for over 4 hours on max temperature setting, it's barely warm and feet still cold when indoor air temp is 65°F. That was with additional blanket over it as well. It is more frustrating than helpful. Really disappointed with Sunbeam on this one.
