With 2 people and close following of the clear instructions assembly is fairly straightforward. Not cheap but good and aesthetically pleasing product. Mine actually survived a black bear attempt to open it with only minor damage (it did have a lock on it).
The instructions, like anything else, are sometimes hard to comprehend, but ultimately, I got it. You do not need 2 people to put this together. I would suggest putting this together right where it's going to be placed, because you will need 2 people to move it, if you don't. It seems nice and sturdy, and I hope it will last a long time. I would recommend getting a cover for it too, as it's not completely waterproof.
This deck storage shed is awesome. Using it to store my power generator and generator accessories for when storms/hurricanes knock my power out. It is water tight. I have yet seen any evidence of any water going into the shed. I have even power washed it to get light dirt off of it. Still no evidence of water in the shed. Took about an hour to assemble. I have it screwed down to the deck boards using lag bolts. It has not moved. Extremely sturdy.
This storage shed comes with very poor assembly instructions! My husband and a neighbor both tried to get the bottom latch installed with no luck, and the instructions were not helpful at all. The black door latch that allows it to swing open BROKE during installation! This looks like it should be a nice, easy to manage storage shed - but trust me, it's NOT worth over $300!
A bit shorter than our previous unit, but now we meet homeowners restrictions. Unit is surprisingly roomy. Easy to assemble. Approximately 1 hour for one person. Good quality for price; much better than the other well known brand as far as materials. Last unit lasted 15 years and expect this one to exceed that due to quality of connection points. A little pricey, but overall a great rating.
First, kudos to Walmart! My shed arrived a couple of days earlier than estimated! And the price was awesome! Second, I assembled the shed myself; which took me about 2 hours. It went together pretty easily. I had no problem following the instructions. But I had a problem with 2 of the door hinges. The hinges have screws that screw into a hole through the back of the hinge and into a nut welded onto the front of the hinge. The welded nuts on 2 of the hinges are off just enough so that when you try to run the screw through the hinge into the nut, the screw cross-threads and begins to strip the screw threads! I contacted Suncast and they are sending me 2 replacement hinges......so kudos to Suncast for excellent Customer Service!
I have had Suncast products before and they performed reasonably well for what they are. This shed is big enough for most small backyard tools and a small mower if the handle on the mower flips down. I only rated a 4 because in my opinion the doors should have a stiffener in them but they work fine now. Assembly is very easy just follow the directions.
I purchased this unit to store my bicycles. DOES NOT WORK! Unless you have small clown bikes. Fairly easy to put together, but two people are needed. Needs a level surface as a base for the doors to swing correctly and not put stress on the bolt/screw system which is modest to say the least. For storing small items like bags of fertilizer or stackable boxes it would work great. I was not thorough enough in my research in searching and should have measured everything before purchase. Read everything thoroughly before purchasing and measure the items you plan to store. I spent $270 smackaroo's and can't store my bikes. Yesterday, I went and purchased a larger unit that will hold my bikes & have now spent about $750.00. Expensive lesson!
One person, 1 hour, instructions all clear with one exception. If you have trouble determining proper location for the "J" metal roof reinforcing bar, just save it for the last step. Bar can be screwed on after full assembly, is only a lid reinforcement bar to be centered near the roof leading edge. Screws went in fast with small cordless drill set to lowest drag release. All moving parts perform nicely, just be sure you prepare a level base to install shed on. Nice shed, using for storing 10k Duromax generator, 2 propane bottles, and 6- 25' heavy duty generator cords, all fit neat and cozy.
I am very happy with my shed purchase. It was east to assemble with two people doing the work and it went together without difficulty. All parts were accounted for. The shed opens and closes well and am happy with the amount of space. My only question is why is the shelf, which it is made to accomodate, not mentioned as an option. Might be nice to have. I would recommend this.
