This set is a great value. The picture quality is good and the sound is fine (we are using it to mostly watch sports outside, so if you're watching the London Philharmonic then maybe the sound won't work for you). It has lots of display options. Easy to install into the side of the house, though if you have cementboard siding like we do, you will need to go to the hardware store and get a spacer nut for the lower screw for the mount. Best value out there and happy with the product.
Purchased this tv from Walmart for my outdoor kitchen/pergola. I am happy with my purchase with fast delivery, nice picture quality, decent sound with the built in speakers and the waterproof remote. Altho it's all weather, I bought a waterproof cover so hopefully this tv will last me for a long time. I will definitely recommend this tv.
I like that it was pretty easy to set up. I dislike the speaker, very tinny. For the price over a high end outdoor tv this fits the bill for affordable. I've used this tv in humidity of 75% and 67% dew point with no problem. The picture is nice (not a $2K tv picture) but very good. I added a Knox Gear soundbar (was told it was weatherproof) to improve the sound and then just mute the tv sound. The soundbar fits very nice under the tv. I fabricated my own hangers for the soundbar out of metal strapping and stainless bolts. The tv is hooked up to my Directv. I just ran the HDMI cable from the receiver through the crawl space to a HDMI outlet I added outside. You can put any length HDMI cable you want and move the tv wherever you want as long as there is a power outlet near. The only problem is the Directv remote doesn't recognize the tv and soundbar so it takes 3 remotes to run everything but I'm okay with that. Also, this is claimed to be a partial shade tv mounted on a tripod under a 4ft overhang. The glossy screen made it difficult to see the picture most of the day. I cured that problem by ordering a glare screen from GlareStoppers. Easy to install with two to three people. I wouldn't attempt to install the glarestopper by myself. I called Sun Cast about them glare problem and they told me to adjust the brightness and contrast. I just ordered the glare screen and problem solved. This is a very heavy tv so I would suggest getting help when hanging it. I also bought a protective cover for it from Amazon. The Bluetooth works ok. I added a Bluetooth wireless adapter to the tv so I could add another Bluetooth speaker behind us. I hooked up the soundbar to Bluetooth and added another Bluetooth speaker but I'm still perfecting it. Can't say anything about the 4K. There are 3 HDMI ports, a optical, a line out, red, white, yellow AV ports, as well as RF, 1 USB port and YPbPr. So plenty of places to hook things up. So for me, just what I wanted without spending $1200-$1500 for a 43" outdoor tv. As for how long it will perform?? Only time will tell!!
The television is pretty heavy compared to an indoor TV. Not a 5-star because the glass reflects a lot. For outdoor TV it should be matte glass or anti reflective coating. Noticed the same reflection problem with sunbrite TV I saw at a theme park recently. So, for the money it is definitely worth going with suncast over sunbrite.
The TV was a great price for outdoor models. it is durable and can withstand the elements. its very heavy so normal mounts wont work if you need a specialized mount. The only issue I have thus far is not being able to pair wjth Xfinity remote. I reached out to the manufacture and rhey seemed confused about this request. there was definitely a communication barrier there. if they make it programmable via Xfinity remote i would give it 5 stars
Bought this tv for my outdoor lanai. Picture is great sound is so so. Cannot find a code for the xfinity remote. Also tried to buy a universal remote to no avail
Bought this for outdoor patio. cannot get the remote to work at all. had to buy an adapter for roku stick because it wouldnt fit in the space provided. our roku remote works though. had to buy a cover separately too because its not totally weatherproof. hopefully we can figure out the remote, but of all things to not work, thats annoying.
Bought this TV for mothers day. Finally got around to installing the outdoor outlet and mounting it today. The picture looks excellent, the build is the most solid Ive ever felt, but the sound is horrible. Voices sound like they are in a tin can under water. Almost like a blown speaker. Not sure if its just bad speakers in this unit, but I see at least two other reviews that said the same thing. About to check the Walmart return policy.
When we received the television via FedEx, the box was torn open. After finishing opening the box and reviewing the specifications of the television, I discovered that the television was not for temperatures below 32 degrees, above 80% humitiy, was not rain resistant, the connects were open to the weather, and there were vents on the back off the television where moisture could enter the television electronics. I have purchased "indoor" televisions that have better environment limiting parameters. I would not recommend this television to anyone. Very heavy and does not meet the specifications of an outdoor television.
Even though I read the reviews due to the price I thought I would give it a try. The box was damaged on delivery. The side of the TV frame had a scratch. The picture and sound was decent. Two days the screen when turned on had a huge white spot so having to return. TV is very heavy but once mounted not like I would move it around. Chrome Cast volume and power does not work with this TV.
