This tv was easy to set up and the color outdoors is perfect. Only thing I didn't like was the weight. A very heavy tv to hang. Perfect in every other way!!!
Solid TV - works well outside!
This is not a bad alternative to the Sunbrite outdoor TV. I had a 55” Sunbrite that took a header during a wind storm. This Suncast is a nice replacement. It's is a LOT heavier and with luck, it won't flop over... the screen is a bit to glossy so I ordered a matte finish cover. The glare is a bit much. Ours is under a cabana but it's a bit much like a mirror. The sound is Horrible! I added a Bose sound bar. In all fairness, the Sunbrite TV needed a sound bar also. As for the remotes... suncast has a waterproof remote... our TV is close to the pool. I was looking for a second remote, but I can not find one. The price difference between the 2 is a toss up.
I truly love the Suncast 55" Outdoor TV and love the clarity of the screen. However, the partial shade performance is lackluster due to the glare from the screen; which is annoying during daytime. That's the only downfall of the TV and what's preventing a 5.0 rating.
Haven't even used it, can't find the remote. Anyone know where I could get the exact same remote as a replacement?
First let me say this thing is heavy. At 90 plus pounds, even when mounted to brick I am concerned to let my kids near it. The picture is good and the remote is waterproof but does not always register selections unless pointed right at the sensor. This states partial shade but with the reflectivity of the tempered glass we find it unusable until dusk when bright reflections fade. For the price I am regretting not just throwing a cheap TV on the wall and replacing it every few years.
Like the TV, but it is an outdoor TV and the sun glare is awful. Ordered a glare screen film.
Will not turn on after 1 use. No on/off button on tv. Must use remote. This is a poorly made tv. Buy with caution!!!
This "Outdoor TV" is not worth the time for the following reasons: For starters, a 102lb package delivered via FedEx was atrocious. The box arrived damaged along with the frame of the TV, plus it was free 2-day shipping and it showed up on Tuesday after being ordered on a Friday and tracking showed a delivery of Sunday. Nonetheless, I was excited to see what this was all about. Upon pulling it out of what was left of the box, I noted that the all of the HDMI inputs were out in the open like a standard indoor TV. How are these inputs supposed to stay waterproof with a TV that carries an IP54 rating? I then wanted to see what the TV looked like in the ambient sunlight. When I fired up the TV and put some content on, I noted a glare that simulated looking in a mirror. I will include that picture. Very disappointed. I went inside for 40 minutes and came back out to show a friend and the TV was getting condensation behind the cover glass while in the sunlight. I then went to turn the audio level up, as there was some ambient noise in the environment, and needing to turn it up to 100 to hear, I soon found out that the "volume down" command did not work. I also noted that there are a number of buttons on the remote that do not work. I counted 16 out of 49 buttons that do not send out a command. Unfortunately, I have to say that this TV was NOT worth the effort that I put in. Although I am happy that I went forward with testing it as aside from the physical shipping damage, other aspects point to this product being less than stellar. I certainly would have been irritated to receive a replacement with potentially the same issues, aside from damage: poor audio performance, poor video performance, remote not working, IP rating not worth its weight. BUYER BEWARE, NOT WORTH THE CARDBOARD IT IS SHIPPED IN! WILL BE RETURNING.
