This brown edging looks nice because it blends with the mulch in the beds we we put it around. It installs super-easy, and we were done much sooner than we expected. The only other comment I would make is that is IS plastic... and no plastic looks like true stone. But we knew that when we ordered it, so it was exactly what we thought it would look like. We are very happy with it, and ordering more to do an additional area.
These borders/edging for my flower beds just make the area look sharp. I was so tickled to have found extra as I was short some. I found these at a yard sale, brand new in their boxes and got both boxes for $5.00 (what a steal). I pulled out my old edgings and replaced them with these what a transition. But sadly I was lacking about 5-6 to finish the project, Lo and behold I looked on Walmart on line and there they were and in a push of a button they were ordered. Thank you Walmart for always being there when a person needs them.
Best edging I've ever used, and I've tried them all. Very sturdy and so easy to put in. You can make curves or square corners. Would have included photos but couldn't get them to upload, sorry.
It was perfect for my project and easy to use. Price was very good. I have more around other plants to keep from getting run over by lawn mower.
Purchased four of this item to use at New York property and decided to purchase again to use in Florida. Easy to install and looks great.
Suncast Border Stone Edging BROWN: Excellent product for my needs! I have 600 linear ft of flowerbeds throughout, mostly with soft curves. I needed edging that would hold rubber mulch in place when edge trimming and keep grass from growing into flowerbed. I couldn't afford natural stone, nor did I want to dig and I am doing this by myself, so I needed edging with the following properties: affordable, thick edging that wouldn't fall over with time nor pull out temperature changes; can be pounded in by a small woman; could withstand edge trimming; straight top with enough height to hold mulch; a color to compliment red rubber mulch; durable, and can work on sloped terrain. I've put in 100 feet of it with no problem (Virginia regular soil...not clay) and they're new, so I can't comment on durability, but they held up really well to the pounding and I forced some slight bending to create soft curves and go up sloped terrain, providing nice finished border and holds rubber mulch in really well with its 2.25 inches height for the above ground portion. They also lock in tightly against each other which helps avoid them coming out. Seem to be holding up really well to edge trimming. I love that as long as I pound in the pieces flush to the ground, they automatically look level on top; the finish is pleasing (slight shine, which I like). This brown color looks better against red rubber mulch (less contrast and the brown seems to have subtle reddish undertones) than the gray version, in my opinion. The whole family thinks it looks great and the price was the best for the type of border I needed (I did a lot of research and review-reading). I did already buy the remaining product to cover all 600 ft. Before I found this edging, I had previously removed the crab grass along the border (kept creeping into flowerbed), so the bare areas/slight gaps under a few pieces you see in the photos will be reseeded with a light layer of top soil soon. Photos attached. Thanks!
It does what we want it to do as a garden edge. But, it cannot be curved, only straight lines and the prongs are not strong enough for hard ground. I used a spade to loosen the ground to pound them in. I used a plastic "dead blow" (sand filled) 16 oz. hammer and it worked well. I think you could also use a short 2x4 as a pad if you wanted to use a steel hammer. I would not recommend a steel hand-sledge directly on the plastic as it would probably mar the finish.
Easy to install. I wish I had paid more attention to the height of the product. But for now it will work until I can replace it.
The brown is too shiny, looks fake. The taupe-gray color looks great. They are easy to install and sturdy, and look much more natural.
This ended up looking so completely artificial with shiny plastic and even though it might be sturdy it "looks" like poor quality. I returned it immediately unfortunately.
