Suncast Slide Trak 225 ft. Beige Retractable Free Standing Hideaway Hose Reel, Resin and Steel

I've owned Suncast hose reels in the past and have always been pleased with them. In our new residence, we wanted a hidden hose on the ground (not wall mounted) and this unit fills the bill nicely. I can't speak to durability over time yet, but the setup was easy, the unit accommodated 100' of medium-weight hose with extra room and it works flawlessly (easy to reel up and no leaks at the connections). The hose guide is hand-operated when you reel the hose up, but that is simple to figure out and gives you control over how evenly you wind it up. I'm very happy with it for the price in terms of quality of construction and design and it blends in nicely with the yard and landscape.

no assembly required, this is sturdier than expected, easy to connect hose to reel inside box, overall i am happy with this.

Had one last summer, so bought an extra for the back patio. The first shipment got damaged and had to return but got another and was ok. Priced ok, color consistent. Keeps the patio and landscape neater than letting the hose loose and tangled.

This is my second one. The most recent has an improvement to my earlier one in that they beefed up the take up handle. The handle broke on my previous one and I was unable to get a replacement. Other than a few leaks at the onset, everything went smoothly. I would recommend for purchase.

I thought it would be the type that the hose track was attached to a spline system as many others in the price range are equipped. This one requires 2 handed operation. Reeling the hose and guiding it to prevent jamming allwhile keeping your foot on the unit to keep it from moving around. While not as convenient as my last hose reel cabinet it does the job. Just know it takes a few times to get a system in place t]o be efficient. Not a simple cabinet / reel. It looks nice and seems to work well. While I'm not super happy with it , I am not disappointed enoufh to return it. It ok.

I purchased this hose reel because it is nice enough looking to place on my patio area where the outdoor faucet is located. It reels easily & neatly. I was disappointed when I opened the box and found there was absolutely no packing material whatsoever, just the reel in a cardboard box. I opened the box and checked it over closely before leaving the store when I picked it up. I would rather have purchased a more sturdy reel that is not made entirely of plastic. I'm afraid the handle might snap off and the hose connection threading also, with too much weight or pressure. The more durable hose reels are unattractive, so this reel was my choice. I hope this reel lasts since I think it is overpriced plastic and probably made in China.

I had ordered one of these which for the price seemed fair, but after using site to store and going to pick it up I unboxed the first one and first made sure the handle was not broken cause they shipp it in a bit of an oversized box without any insulation/padding so it can rock around alot in shipping. The handle looked good and I didnt see any defects until I got it home and when I flipped it over a plastic piece fel to the ground that was one of the corner posts at the top that I didnt notice was cracked. On the underside at the base front cross beam it was also cracked right in the middle and was loose. I took it back and ordered another and I opened it up and did an inspection in the places that the previous one was damaged and saw nothing wrong. So I took it home and placed it on the ground and noticed that the top lid when raised and lowered never laid down flush, it always had a gap to the right front side. What I didnt notice at the Wal MArt when I inspected it was that the front right side post area where the front panel connects to the side panel ...that the top tab that clicks in place to secure the panels had cracked and the connection was then really loose. Rather than take it back again I got out the epoxy and slathered up the joint and reconnected it. I doubt it will last, but we will see. I gave it 3 stars since I did get the quality that I paid for a roll up unit like this. If they would use sturdier thicker plastic then this would be a much better product.

Unless I read the description wrong I thought this unit had auto hose guide.. it does not. otherwise quality is ok not great...if had to do again would buy the unit that has the auto hose guide..

This hose reel does not have an auto-alignment mechanism which guides the hose back and forth upon retrieval. Therefore the hose bunches up on one side or the other. I regret buying this product and will be hesitant to make another online purchase.
