It really works!

Patherndon December 18, 2020

I have this desk which I picked up by the curb, as a neighbor discarded it. It was paint in white latex, but I want it in its natural wood color. I took me three quarts of differents brands of paint remover, and sanding, and the whole summer to remove nearly the whole paint, however there were some impossible corners. The paint was not the same, it looked more plastic. I was tired and wanted to finish this work. And I found Sunnyside remover. Today is December 19th, 32 °F (0 °C), we have snow and you can see it is really cold. So the temperature is not the recommended for working, however it took two minutes to remove that paint from those difficult places. Finally I did it! The remover has a strong odor, like mineral spirits, work outdoors. I was working in the screen porch (sanding is not good for pets) but this product is flammable and the maker recommend that. It is the only precaution I had. It was very easy to apply, is not liquid, is more like a gel, so it is great for vertical surfaces like mine. I remove the paint with a paint scraper and the rest with a steel sponge.

Removed paint and joint compound off floor

TeeandJay December 25, 2020

I decided to put Up a faux brick panel wall in my foyer, and do a German smear which requires white paint, and if you want to do it very well, joint compound which is more like a putty. I did my best to cover up the floors but unfortunately some got on the floors. Most I could remove with water and elbow grease, but the rest I could not. I used the Sunny side remover, and followed the instructions and time allotment, and it came right up. No damage to my floors. I would highly recommend.

Good product

KDRabbit December 26, 2020

Overall works well. Stripped some paint on 65 Mustang parts very well. Not quite as effective on more modern paints but better than most others. Also used to remove rust on antique glider. Not made for that but I thought I would give it a try and it worked.

Great stripper

Bob December 18, 2020

This is a nice product, I used it indoors to strip some home made doors because of the cold weather. The product stayed where I put it and in no time lifted up almost black 1948 varnish down to the bare wood. I used a putty knife to remove product from the surface then cleaned with mineral spirits allowed to dry and applyed satin poly to finish the job.

Works great for all kinds of paint

Dphillips82 March 14, 2021

I used this to remove paint from a bathtub that needed to be repainted. It was an off white color and we got as much paint off so wecould repaint it white. This did a great job removing the old to make a great surface for the new to stick. Ive also used it on windows in the homes we renovate to help clean the paint splatters.

This stuff is powerful!

datelite December 21, 2020

I received this product to evaluation for free, but all comments and opinions are my own. I'd never dealt with paint remover before. Most of the time, I did it with sanding until now. This stuff is powerful! You just: 1. Pour on area you would like to remove paint 2. Let sit ~2-5 minutes 3. Using a "putty knife" scrape away - seems to remove about 80-85% via this method 4. Wipe away debris with a paper towel 5. Use a wire brush to remove the remaining... It worked. No more elbow grease. Just be cautious when working with this type of chemical. Make sure to work in the open air and wear protective glove and safety glasses (in case of splash). Highly recommended.

Works well on some types of paint

MidwestGirl December 27, 2020

I needed this to remove latex paint, and it worked fairly well on that, with several applications. It's described as a gel, and it's thicker than regular liquid remover, but not very thick - it will still run if you put on too much. For tougher finishes it's best to cover with plastic or something so it will not dry out, and leave on for about 30 minutes. It doesn't have methylene chloride, so that is a good thing. Works well for purpose described.

Didnt work

AliG December 27, 2020

This is another "friendly" stripper - which is an oxymoron. It may work on Latex and softer modern paint, but it would not touch the lacquer on the brass I was trying to strip. I ended up using some old Methylene Chloride/MEK stripper I had laying around. I did not test it on polyurethane but based on other reviews, it's probably a waste of money.

Product didn't actually work. Then return process was lacking in clarity from beginning to it's still unresolved end.

Not for my hutch...

Karkabeans January 2, 2021

I had planned on using this to remove the clear coat on my hutch to redo it. My husband and I used 2 coats and let it set for 5 minutes, the recommended time. It's barely faded as you can see in the pic. Maybe for another type of project just not this one! The smell isn't bad though; kind of like a mild nail polish remover.
