Poorly-conceived game, now non-functional
A free-to-play battle royale Bomberman game “Super Bomberman R Online” (which already struggled to get decent player counts) went offline, and was shoved into this $50 barebones, sorry excuse of a sequel to the original Super Bomberman R. After only a few months, the matchmaking was retooled in a way that the server gives up on looking for a match after 10 seconds, resulting in a completely dead game online, with even the promise of crossplay between different platforms being unable to provide enough players for online play to function. As of February 2024, the game is literally unplayable online on any platform as it has become impossible for matchmaking to pair any players. The offline multiplayer and single player modes barely justify a $20 price tag, let alone its $50 asking price.
