Excellent I can opener thank you
Worked great
This can opener has worked for months now. I chose this brand after breaking another name brand after just a few uses. This swingline brand is the one my mother used. It's been around along time.
Best can opener I've tried in a long time. The metal is thick, which makes a big difference. And it operates very smoothly. The magnet to lift off lids is a luxury feature, very nice!
I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend this much on a can opener. I've had so many that didn't work, and just got fed up with my too large electric one, with the magnet catching the tops and dripping all over. But the one reviewer helped me decide when she said her mom had this one and I know that with age comes arthritis and turning key openers can be hard to use. But this is a joy!!! I was able to keep the tuna can on it and pour out the water with one step. Great buy, easy to hold and turn. Worth every penney. Reviews always help me decide.
This Swing-A-Way Ergo Can Opener lives up to its reputation. Is easy to handle, even for old-age hands and hasn't become hard to turn. It doesn't skip or drag. The magnet can be irritating if it gets mingled with other metal item in the drawer, but a small inconvenience for a can- opener that works well and stays usable. Note: I do hand wash and do not put in dishwasher.
I bought this can opener way back in the early-middle of 2019. This means I've been using it at least once a week (I love canned tuna for tuna fish sandwiches.) for going on two years. In that two years time it's only had one issue. One of the plastic handles on one of the "arms" has come loose and spins around but hasn't actually fallen off and doesn't appear it will. Everything else is working just as good as the day I first used it. It has been washed countless times and has shown no signs of rust or any other corrosion. It hasn't gotten harder to use either like a lot of these manual can openers tend to do after a year of moderate usage.
Swing-A-Way makes the best can opener. I have owned many brands for over 30 years. The hand crank is longer than those other brands giving more leverage and ease of turn. The blade/gear alignment does not skip and locks on tight. Can go into the dishwasher. Even when dropped to the floor in a butter finger event, it still performs like a champ. Why get a second opener if they last? Camping. The New Model = "The Chassis" - Classic Swing-a-way, heavy metal, with a bonus new feature - A swivel magnet for those can lids. "The Handles" - squarish, firm with soft finger ridges, approx. 3/4" on all sides of each handle. Very comfy. "The Crank" - Same classic design at 3 1/4" long with an improved depth of 3/4" with silicone grips on both sides. The classic was approx. 1/3". Swing-a-way has a very balanced feel in the hand and with these new handles - Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner :)
Fast shipping. Works extremely well. The handle grips do come off very easily though and the magnet wants to stick more to the can than the lid.
The machanical design of the cutting mechanism is great; BUT THE HANDLES SUCK. I pressed down hard on the handle on first attempted use and one slidd back about 3/8" and rolled slightly. WHAT! I then pulled slightly on the hand and it slid right off. A slight pull on the other one and it came off (along with 2 plastic shims) on sides of the metal handles. You would think it would be better to dip the handles in liquid silicone and let the mixture set than to slide cheap silicone handles on and degrade the use of the product. After a few weeks or months useage, I can see these handles just falling off. TERRIBLE manufacturing. Low cost, but not worth the hassle to return. WILL NEVER BY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN!!!
