I purchased this item site-to-store which was a super quick and easy process! When I got the box I thought, my this is so "light weight." Upon getting it home and putting it to use, I fell in love: It was no assembly required, blade as sharps, cuts are neat and even, and it can handle several pages of card stock (I personally wouldnt do more than 3 or 4) but just a conveinence to not have to do one at a time. I am making pocket fold inserts for my wedding invitations and for something as important as your wedding, the "look" is very important and I am so glad I made this purchase to assist me with the task!
The process I used to purchase this item was great. The initial purchase said 4 hours but I was able to pick up in about 2. When I arrived to pick up item ordered online it was ready and the transaction was smooth. I would recommend both the service and the item. The service used was to purchase online and pick up from the store.
Growing up, I always wanted one of these! Got the idea from back in the Elementary School days. I sell stuff on ebay and I needed something to cut labels or invoices faster than a scissor! I usually add thank you notes and thanks to this little device I can cut up to 20 sheets of normal copy paper with ease. Love this thing! For the price I cannot believe what a deal I got, amazing!
After spending hours on Walmart.com, Ebay, and Amazon researching reviews, capabilities, price, and value, I settled on this Swingline. I bought this in store and not online, because, I could get it right then and not wait for shipping. Now, I know this isn't the one that weighed "a ton" back in the day at school that had the heavy wood block and big carbon steel blade. This is a plastic base, with a plastic handle, and lightweight stainless steel blades. I needed a new one that would cut large identification bar code labels made of nylon with a glue base on a paper backing about as thick as cardstock. As these are nylon that slide very easily, I am not going to be cutting up to the thickness of ten sheets of printer paper, but I was able to cut up to the thickness of 15 sheets with no problem. As there is glue on the backs of the labels, it builds up on the blades, but the blades are sharp enough to keep on scissoring through with little effort. Swingline has always been the go to brand for small office work tools, and this one has now gone through a few hundred of these labels. It is straight, has inch and millimeter hash mark rulers, is lightweight and portable, and as long as it is not abused, will give you years of good use
The Swingline ClassicCut Lite Guillotine Trimmer is a very well made product that cuts paper just as neatly and cleanly as its heavier counterpart but is light enough to move around easily. The blade is sharp, the table is well marked, and it has all the features of any guillotine-style cutter, but the high impact plastic table cuts its weight by more than half. I would recommend this cutter to anyone who cuts paper regularly but wants to move it around often.
This trimmer has done what I want it to do. So far card stock and trim pictures. I really like it's light weight. I plan on making a spot on my peg board to hang it in my craft room after I receive it for Christmas ; ). I did find out that I am not comfortable with cutting more than 3 card stocks at a time.
This thing is a cutting beast. However, it's made of plastic, and there is no telling how long it will last. I'm rough on tools, not by intention, but by constant use. I love how precise of a cut it gives me, and I'm going to be doing A LOT of cutting in the near, immediate future. I just hope it lasts.
I do scrapbooking and lot of crafty things for church and with the kids. I thought, "Could you guys maybe please get me a papercutter for Mother's Day...but get it a little early? Because I have a scrap I'm going to in early May." They sure did. My husband found this online upon recommendation of other scrappers and bought it that very day I made the suggestion. I guess he knew it would be something I really liked, and he would've done GOOD for me for Mother's Day this year. Happy VERY EARLY Mother's Day to me. I love it so far. We've cut a LOT of paper already!
I didn't have high hopes for this product, it's from Walmart, is lightweight, and is expected to cut through sheets of paper with precision. However, my budget was tight and I was in need. I am very impressed with this product and would definitely reccomend this product for anyone that is looking for an inexpensive guillotine trimmer. I was afraid that because the product is so light weight that it would not stay put as I was trying to use it, but it was perfectly still. I was also afraid the blade would not be sharp enough to make the straight neat edges I needed but it is beyond sharp and made perfectly straight edges. The ruler at the top and midway down the trimmer helped me make accurate cuts. I'm sure there are far better high end trimmers but for my rare at home use this product is perfect.
it is a good price and you get what you pay for... it can cut 8-10 sheets of thin paper or light weight scrapbook paper... if you cut more, then the cuts will be a little off... i paid for it online and when i went to pick it up (which was less than an hour after i paid on line, very fast) the price in store was less than what i paid for online and they credited me the difference and told me about it... which i didn't expect but was happy to hear... it def is a good size for the average crafter...if you need for chipboard then this is not the one for you... but i like the size, the weight, and the price...
