From what I've seen, it's a detector with multiple capabilities/functions. It would detect and find the stud, and additionally helps you to locate the middle of the stud instead of the edge/corners. This is much appreciated since you can easily ruin your wall by hitting the edge of a stud if the finder is not accurate. It can also inform you about the presence of wires and pipes, which is a valuable feature. Overall, I would buy it.

I love this stud finder it's the best! This stud finder is great for a homeowner and renter who needs one it tells you the location of the studs from start to finish. Shows you how much metal is in the wall. I've owned many of stud finders nothing compares to this!

Should of got this in the first place. I went with a cheap one that just beeps and ended up missing the stud. Had to wait to get this awesome stud finder to finish my tv install. Glad I did. The thing tells you where the stud is, if you are centered or at the edge. Apparently I got the edge with the cheap one. It also tells you if there is piping or wires behind the wall. I knew there was not and the detector confirmed it. Happy now. And the tv looks great on the wall. I said awesome because I have a small hole in my wall because I cheap out, I can't imagine the size of the hole it will cause if I nick a gas pipe or electrical wires hanging a picture if I didn't have this now. My level of experience is 2 ticks under a home diy'er. I'll hang a tv or built an ikea draw but not diy remodel a kitchen. Haha. PS. It also comes with pretty study case/bag that have a belt loop.

Did the job with no issues.

Batteries that came with the tool did not work. We had to buy new batteries before we could use the tool.

Product looks well built with quality material as well as good packaging. Unfortunately I couldn't test the product itself because it didn't work even changing batteries. Looking forward to test a working unit in the future.

works okay battery that came with it did not work it was dead so I bought a new one and seems to be working okay

Don't waste your money on this crap tool! Not working as it should. My magnet more accurate detecting wood stud.

It makes sounds randomly, I put a few holes in my walls to not find anything.

Arrived twice with dead batteries.
