This really does work well to strain everything, from noodles to ground meats. I have used this on my Largest soup pot for noodles and it does work well. Even the THIN spaghetti noodles didn't loose but literally a couple. When I used my best colander i always loose a handful of noodles. The only down side I have noticed is if you are trying to strain extra large quantity and it wants to escape OVER the actual strainer when you are tipping out. But so far i have not had that happen, just see the tendency it could. This is mostly easy to wash being silicone, if you do not rinse/wash immediately after use then you may need to scrub in the crevices more - but this cleans up well. Excellent kitchen cooking tool to have!
So I received this Tasty Silicone Clip-On Strainer. This works wonders and you don't have to dirty more dishes to strain your food anymore. This clips on the side of your pot you are cooking with and when you are ready to strain what ever it's is, you just slowly toilet it sidewise and it's strains it. This is well made and made of silicone. Dishwasher safe. Overall, great idea!
The Tasty silicone clip-on strainer is not only small but efficient as well! Simply clip and strain! I have an extremely small kitchen, and this is the perfect addition to my cooking accessories! I like that easy to use, clean and store for even the smallest of spaces and largest needs!
I wasn't sure that I was going to like this. As somebody who usually uses the pan lid to strain items in the pan, I'm definitely looking for an easy technique. When I clipped the strainer on, it seemed like it fit pretty well on two different sizes of pans. As I poured, I saw that some water did leak between the strainer and the edge of the pan. I tried straining uncooked rice out of a pan full of water, and only a few grains got past the strainer. Nice! I was impressed. This does work really well.
When I cook I usually cook for 4 or more people so there are not times I need to drain foods on such a small portion size. The Tasty Silicone Clip-On Strainer did clip on to my pot but food will fall out if you have a lot. If you are cooking for 1 or 2 people or small portions this would be great and easy to use. This is a great option if you are camping or traveling a lot and need something than can drain or rinse your food. I do love the clip on option so I feel like it is secure and won't just fall off. I still prefer my big colander but cooking in most situations. The colander does fit on all pans but it doesn't provide coverage as well on larger ones. The silicone part can handle hot water. You can wash it by hand or put it in your dishwasher.
This little strainer is a neat little thing. It hooks well onto most of my pots and some pans. I find straining to be easier with this, if I'm straining veggies or mac and cheese. As a family of 4, while making spaghetti, this didnt preform all that well. I still had to bust out my colander to get the noodles completely drained. This does however clean up very easily, extra bonus that it can go in the dishwasher. The metal clips on the side can get a bit hot, but its really to be expected hooked onto the side of a pot or pan for lengthy bits of time. I have used this almost every day for two weeks, its held up perfectly. No signs of wear and tear. No signs of melting either. A must have gadget for me
This clip on pot strainer works pretty well. Fits on most pots. Directions say to put it on the pot before it gets hot but it can make it hard to stir what's in the pot especially on smaller pots. I would prefer to clip it on when I'm ready to strain but I get they don't want people burning themselves at that point.
I was a little worried at first when I saw the strainer and how it arrived— but it easily expands into full functioning strainer and absolutely gets the job done! It’s fit on almost all of the pots that I use when cooking, which is also a plus!! The color is simple and primary enough that it doesn’t hinder any sort of “theme” or “color” scheme you have in your kitchen, which is also a plus! It works very well with the pastas I’ve tried it with for far! Next step is veggies that I’m boiling, which I’m sure will Go just as well as the noodles have in the past. I highly recommend this- as you can easily wash it, fold it back into its slim form, throw it back in the utensil drawer, and carry on with serving the meal and eating!
The Tasty Silicone Clip-On Strainer, Universal Adjustable Snap-On Colander is great. But let me be very clear it does not fit on everything and it will not stay on every pot necessarily. You must hold the ends as tipping tipping. Otherwise you will end up with a big mess like I did lol. Otherwise this is a great utensil to have. I've. Less dishes in the sink and smaller for easier storage. Gone are the days of a regular collinder.
I'm not really sure what to think of this strainer. It has some good qualities....it is a good idea. It takes up less room than a normal strainer. The clips work well. They hold on tight and there was no slipping. It somewhat conformed to my pot when I used it. It is dishwasher safe and that is always a plus. The thing I don't like about it is the actual straining part. Now, I could just be not doing something right, but I don't think so because I followed directions and it's pretty self explanatory. It will drain well, but the part that drains has to be physically pulled out of the pot or it just stays pushed up against the inside of it. So you have to use a utensil to pull it out before you drain it because the instructions say leave it inside of the pot while cooking. Obviously you can't stick your fingers in the pot to pull it out or you'll get burned. It just seemed like a weird part of the design to me. I would rather use a regular strainer, even though they take up more room than use this. The only time I can think this might be helpful is if you're camping because it takes up less room.
