Great TV. Great Price. FedEx delivered damage free in 2 days. I chose this model because it's Android based not Roku. I've owned Roku based TV's in the past and the Android platform is much better and links to all of my Android devices. The remote has a mic so you can speak commands and link to Google home to control smart appliances etc.
LetLets start with Whats Good about this television. My particular one is the 55 inch. From top to bottom. The bezel is nice , thin and almost unnoticeable when the TV is playing. The stand is the typical right and left pair of legs( Be sure the longest dimension points towards the front the instructions arnt clear on that) The TV itself is not heavy at approximately 25 pounds and is well supported. The standby light is a nice soft white glow and not the common intrusive red. Moving onto the right side facing, all necessary inputs are there except for the typical RCA input. There are three HDMI inputs which is quite nice. Easy access. If youre not familiar with this type television allow yourself about a half hour learning curve, But if youre in a hurry you can be watching television five minutes after you plug it in! The chrome cast is quite handy, however realize not everything will cast. The sound is excellent, I have this in a room approximately 11 x 12 and there was no need for a stereo in that room. (You would expect tinny sounding small speakers, But you can get room filling sound from this set.) A very nice feature I will mention at this point is the opportunity to turn off the display and just listen to a music channel, you can get room filling sound from this set. thats very handy for YouTube and others. The display returns with the push of any button on the remote. While Im on the subject of the remote I will say the remote could be a little bigger But you can get used to it. Im a big fella With big hands but I have no problem with it, but bigger would be nicer. The buttons are responsive and raised. The picture is absolutely amazing. If you are into high contrast and visual clarity , This will put a smile on your face. . Youre really have to see it to believe it. I dont write many reviews but this television deserved one, the pluses are numerous andthe minuses are few. I bought it with a 4 year maintenance agreement only because I was not familiar with this brand and I dont know how it will hold up as I have had it approximately three weeks. But I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
This TV replaced a 5 year old TV that suffered a lightning strike surge. It is 55 inch versus the 43 inch it replaced, yet still manages to be lighter. I am very happy with the Android operating system and it's vast number of apps that it is capable of utilizing. I read in another review that someone was dissatisfied with the screen brightness, but this just isn't an issue with the unit we received. It's only been a couple weeks since I installed it so I just don't have much history with it, but so far I gotta give it 5 stars.
I love the TCL 55in smart Android TV. The 55 inch was the perfect size for my home. It has a crisp clear picture. I love the built-in Roku where we can watch tons of movies and shows. It was an easy setup. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone
I wanted more than a simple Smart TV. I got it! TCl Android TV that does it all! Stunning picture and sound that is 1st rate!
If you're on a budget and covet a smart, high resolution and rich color TV with quality audio, this is it. For $300, the value is great. I feel as I am at a theatre enjoying the movie. Delivery was prompt, next day. Box little ripped, but TV was undamaged. Great service!
I recommend you read the CNet review before buying. Now that I've had the TV for a few days I agree with their assessment. Sound is good, better than my Sony and my Visio. The picture is sharp and colors are pretty vivid out of the box. My set may have a bit of a green cast. I would compare it to FugiChrome film from back in the film photography days. Set-up is a bit time consuming. It is about the same time investment as any smart TV, but I needed a Google account to download apps for streaming. I don't think there's a better TV for the money - especially if you can get this one on sale.
This TV is not compatible with Spectrum TV app. It is kind of incredible that this TV won't work with one of largest cable TV providers in the country. It also is not compatible with Roku TV app. Unbelievable. I would have to buy a Roku box to get it on this TV. I wonder how many other apps are not supported by this TV. I had no idea that some TVs would not work with certain apps. If I had known, I would have bought another type of TV. The price was good, but product is kind of lame. Disappointing. Be aware. Google android TV will not support Spectrum TV app or Roku TV app.
the picture is good! The sound is bad!!! i bought a TCL sound bar to go with it and when it finally hooked up via bluetooth, it sounded really good - BUT - the sound bar does not go down low enough - you are forced to listen to it at full volume because that's the lowest setting! But you need a soundbar because the TV all by itself does not sound good!
I was excited for this tv to go on sale, when I set it up I was extremely disappointed in the picture quality, says 4K, but the pic seems barely 720p, and I own 4 Samsung 4K TVs in my home, the TCL is for the garage, (where it belongs), oh well! You get what you pay for!
