First of all, I wear reading glasses. I didn't think anything special was necessary to use this shampoo, but I took the cap off and couldn't get it to pump. Assumed it was one of those "twist to open the pump" things and tried it, but it didn't move. So I actually got out of the shower to find my glasses so I could read the opening instructions, and of course there is nothing on the bottle about opening the pump. So I tried one last time with a really firm press, and was startled when a stream of grey shampoo shot out of the container! But at least I knew it was open now. Before buying, I'd read some reviews which stated that 'just one pump' transforms into a beautiful lather. So I pressed the pump down. In every other pump bottle of product, from any other manufacturer, when you press the pump down, a preset amount comes out of the bottle. Not this one! As long as you're holding the button down, product continues to shoot out. Before I really grasped what was happening, I had probably an entire third of a cup of shampoo in my hand! So, I may have inadvertently just wasted a third of the bottle due to this pump that wouldn't stop pumping. I reluctantly let most of it wash down the drain - because there's no way to put it back, like you could with a traditional bottle - and washed my hair. As far as the product itself goes, it seems fairly average. My hair feels much more clarified with certain other brands (not sold here), salon brands or drugstore brands. In my experience, *every* shampoo transforms into a beautiful lather once you add water and start massaging it in. Now that I'm done, my hair feels no different from when I use my everyday shampoo. This was my first foray into Oribe and probably my last.
