The Pioneer Woman Breezy Blossom Squirrel-Proof Lantern Bird Feeder

Got this Pioneer Woman designed bird feeder as a housewarming gift. Love the design and colors in this squirrel proof feeder. My friend says she loves watching all the different birds that come feed.

Beautiful bird feeder, easy to fill

Very cute and easy to use

This is my first bird-feeder, and it's lovely! It's exactly as pictured. However, it's larger than you might think— it's approximately 14 inches tall. It's different from most others, because it closes the feeding tray if a squirrel tries to steal goodies, it closes down! Clever! I just put it up a few days ago, fully loaded with bird feed. Will know in a few weeks if it keeps those pesky squirrels out.

This bird feeder is of very sturdy construction. I like the anti-squirrel feature, but have not observed a squirrel trying to get to it yet. It is very colorful and a nice addition to my backyard. Of note; It is very large and heavy when filled with seed. You will need a sturdy branch, or beam, to hang it from.

PROS: Like all products I've encountered in The Pioneer Woman line, this adorable feeder is colorful and well made. I love the two major anti-squirrel features. One is the collapsing perches. Brilliant. The other is the automatic closing of the feeder tray windows if a squirrel jumps to the feeder roof or climbs down to it. The weight of the squirrel on the roof causes the sliding cable to push down the lantern housing which pulls up the feeding tray inside. Brilliant #2. I think the third anti-squirrel feature is the elongated shape of the lantern itself. Well done! It's all metal design with cut-outs on the sides for seed level viewing, and a clear polycarbonate tray inside in the bottom. The hanging mechanism is sturdy weight vinyl-coated (shielded) steel cable with a push-and-slide "button" that allows the roof to be released and laid open for easy filling. I haven't yet hung the feeder in my yard but am eager to see its colorful splash of color among the greenery. If you have a more traditional backyard patio and backyard proper, this unique and beautiful piece will certainly stand out in functional and decor. My "yard" is bland and large (3-acres) and is full of natural native landscape and old Live Oak tees. This pretty feeder will be a welcomed site among nature's greens and browns. I'm very happy with the quality of the feeder and The Pioneer Woman brand as a whole. IDK if they make their product line in the USA (I hope so!), but the pieces always feel like the quality we used to expect back in the day. This quality standard is harder and harder to find in today's disposable culture. :( CONS: My only slight concern with this overall well-made feeding assembly is the small piece of soft clear rubbery plastic that acts as a washer (padding/seal) between the roof tip and the sliding cable. If this tiny piece fails, I think water will be able to find its way into the feeder. I have an idea for a replacement already (using a small rubber washer that's slit on one side to slip on to the cable), but I hope the company will provide replacement parts/pieces thru their web site or customer services. From someone who has had more than a fair share of bird feeder issues, I'm really looking forward to this thoughtfully designed feeder!

This big bird feeder is so stunning that I actually would consider keeping it in the house as a sweet decoration. Yes it's that beautiful. Y'all it's Pioneer Woman so of course it's gorgeous!! It's large enough that we won't need to keep filling it so often. I am in love with this bird feeder

It's very beautiful and easy to use. But it DOESNT ATTRACT BIRDS. Iv seen many birds next to it but none of them go on it. One bird went on it for like 20 seconds that I saw the entire day and the feeder was in my view most of the time. I moved it to another location and still nothing. It's a beautiful feeder but so disappointing that I don't get to see it bring in any beautiful birds. Hopefully the company will let me return it or try their hopper feeder.

Pains me to write this because I LOVE everything Pioneer Woman! This lantern bird feeder is unfortunately completely useless for the birds. The opening that allows the bird to peck into where the food is tiny. Just over a 1/4”. Even the tiny chickadees can't get the food. It's set back from the opening, so they have to peck forward and turn their heads to the side. Which causes them to lose balance, so they have to flap their wings when they peck. It's sad because it's a gorgeous feeder, just a terrible design. Sadly I'll be returning it.

Birds won't use it! I believe the feed slots are too small. Not a single bird. My other feeders have the exact seed and are busy with birds! Bad design on this one, unfortunately.
