I've used our thermacell products (we have both types) in areas with tons of mosquitos (north Idaho) and outdoors in the summer. You can literally see a wall of mosquitos just at the edges of coverage but within - nothing. We even took it to the south island of New Zealand to help with the sandflies. It was amazing. First off I almost never give reviews so the fact that I am writing, says this is great enough that I'm making the effort. Secondly I'm the type who believes zero advertising claims but am willing to give things a shot when, like w/this, independent reviewers (NYT Wirecutter iirc) give a thumbs up. And wow, I put this baby on the table on the patio and got zero bites—I'm a mosquito magnet but we didn't even see a bug all evening. I'm a convert!

Noticeable reduction in # of mosquitoes, especially if you allow it to run for about 15 minutes before you need it. It won't eliminate 100% of the buggers, but it's a big help.

I know it works because I had little gnats or something flying around my head. Soon after I turned it on they left. The only drawbacks are the price of the refills and the fact that twice we've forgotten to turn it off and totally drained the cartridge. An Auto-off feature would be wonderful!

Very powerful mosquito deterrent, this product makes it possible to enjoy my backyard in the summer. My only complaint is that they do not last as long as they claim. Not a cheap solution but the most effective I've found.

We have the small body units (2) and the larger unit for the patio. Doesnt seem to dissuade them from eating us. We have just ordered another type unit that is suppose to attract and kill them. It is so sad to be unable to enjoy the outside when it is beautiful out there!

It does not repel mosquitoes at all. They continue to swarm around us despite having two of these devices engaged and right beside us.
