We are using this in a school setting and the game seems perfect to get them talking. It is for elementary age kid, but can essentially be used for anyone at any age. The younger kids will love it, the rules are clear and it opens up conversation easily.
worked great to get the kids talking

Received the Chat Chains Learning Game for my review. My intention is to gift this to my young great niece and nephew. As a Sociology major, I was quite curious about this learning game. As I read the concept and components of the game, I could see where this could be quite useful to encourage quality conversations with the young members of your family or social circle.
I played this game with 2 other adult family members. The game lasted a little over 2 hours and we played 10 rounds as was suggested in the instructions. At first we started playing it kind of as a joke, but we actually had some really good conversation come out of it. There were some laughs, but it definitely got serious at times too. The game also made me realize how much I close up from my emotions and forced me to be introspective. I even found myself actively listening better as we played, just felt really self aware - in a good way. The game has 2 different difficulty levels that you can switch back and forth between as you play. I think this game would be awesome for children to play with their parents, so that they can learn more about each other without the pressure. It would be great for teaching children or anyone that has difficulties to practice active listening and also be more introspective.
I really like this game because my husband and our son are the exact same. They both tend to keep their convos short and sweet. When we played this game it brought up a lot of fun, interesting stuff and it didn't feel like “work” to get a conversation going. I also like how you have choices within the game as to which question you'd like to answer and a “judge” to make sure things don't go off track. Friends, family, even coworkers would have fun playing and getting to know each other.
This seems like an excellent and entertaining game to play with kids who are 8 years old or older along with adults --- or just kids with kids if preferred. I especially like it because one of our grandchildren is a bit shy when it comes to expressing her feelings if she's upset about something. I think this will help her gradually become more at ease with that as she plays the game more and more and talks about various situations which might be of concern to her. The game seems to be very well-thought-out by professionals, and the cards look like they will hold up well.
This is a fun and engaging game that encourages kids to open up and practice communication and social-emotional skills. The questions are thoughtful and make it easier to start meaningful conversations. Great for families, teachers, and therapy sessions!
This is not your topical typical card game. Be ready for some doors to open. The game itself is compact and portable ready to take the family and friends house at any time. It's a really good way to get people to open up with honest answers. We played with three people. Two in the game responses one judge.
Got this for 2 of our Granddaughters One is a teen the other only 4 years old. They've only used it a couple of times so far but both seem to like it. It's a bit hard for the 4 year old but she does try really hard and usually succeeds. Very smart for her age. I think as time goes on both will benefit from this game when they come to visit us.
