Third Hand Soldering Solder Iron Stand Holder Magnifier Helping Station Tool

This product has made soldering so much easier with its clips to hold the board, and magnifying glass so i can see what im doing. the only minor issue i have found is that the LED lights some times flicker bright, and dim. still i give the product 5/5 the pros i have gained from it far out weigh the flickering light.

I was an electronics repair technician during my first enlistment in the Navy and this item is stellar! Having experience in that field, I know what I need for things I repair here at home like wire splicing, plug replacement etc. I couldn't believe the price for this unit as it has every single thing I've been hurling colorful adjectives around for..and then some! A mini-vise? How cool is that! The only disadvantage is the power cord length...thankfully, my husband is a major hoarder so I found a perfect power cord more than 4' long and am delighted with it!!

Cheap material

Almost impossible to position magnifier over a work-piece because the articulated magnifier arm is too short. The vice at the center of the stage is no good for soldering because it's not level with the base, and the clips are too far forward to be placed under the magnifier. The magnifier can't be placed at a comfortable viewing angle unless you are standing, and leaning over it, Can't use the soldering iron holder because it would melt the cheap plastic base. When I took the magnifier off the base to try to reposition it, I noticed that the almost hair-thin wires were nearly cut-through by the clamping mechanism during assembly. Power cord is too short unless you have a power strip right next to the device. This device would not even cut it as a child's toy. Honestly, don't bother with it. I will have to buy something else, so this will either go in the closet for parts, or straight to the trash. In any case, I won't keep it on my bench because I don't want to look at it. This is what happens when someone has a good idea, but doesn't bother to take the time to think it through.
