So far so good! I use this trigger scoop as an ice cream scooper and it works as expected. The trigger is smooth and works well. It's light weight which is nice and I love the blue color. I put it in the dishwasher when I first got it and ever since. Seems to be holding up well.
This scoop is great! The sliding metal mechanism easily gets sticky dough out of the scoop. It does make large scoops - take of that what you will. So far, easy to clean.
not impressed, the tab to release the ice-cream is so flimsy it bent the very first-time I used it. I bent it back in place. Each time I use the scoop I expect the lever to break I will not replace the scoop with the same brand and style.
So...for starters, I'm not entirely sure if this is meant more for cookie dough (which would be a little softer) or ice cream. I used it for ice cream. It went fine, but since the ice cream was quite frozen, it was a little hard to get out of the scoop, and the trigger actually bent out of shape when I tried using it. Maybe it would work better on a softer substance! Other than the trigger being a little weak, it was nice, and I just tossed it in the dishwasher to clean it. Easy.
Quality of lever is subpar. Bent 90 degrees with little pressure on the very first use. When examined why, saw metal used was very thin under the rubberized grip. Scoop size is what i was looking for, but with continued use the lever will break off.
This item is very cheaply made. i do not recommend it. the thumb piece bends when you try to release the ice cream. the metal piece inside that helps push the ice cream out just bends and pops out. it broke the first time i used it.
The trigger is thin sheet metal and bends easily. The silicon trigger cover easily falls off. Although I used it on soft ice cream, the teeth slipped out of the gear the second time it was used. Most of the reviews in this item are incentivized reviews from influenster.com
This has multiple pieces of very sharp metal just waiting for you to touch the wrong place and slice your finger open. It's weak and unable to scoop moderately frozen ice cream. Once you manage to get it to scoop and haven't sliced your finger open, then the release mechanism doesn't work. Normally, Thyme %26 Table produces quality items, but not this one.
Don't waste your money. The thumb press to release whatever your scooping does not work. The piece inside that moves the food doesn't work either. It's just terrible. I wish I would have saved the packaging so I could return it.
The metal thumb piece is very flimsy and broke the first time using it. The ice cream wasn't frozen solid, it had be sitting to soften up… do not recommend
