Thyme & Table Stainless Steel Fine Grater & Zester

This handy item is a Stainless Steel Fine Grater & Zester from the fine folks at Thyme & Table. I've been wanting for a while now to try out one of these grater/zesters, and this one seems the perfect choice! So far I've used it for grating hard cheeses, for zesting lemons & limes to add a great citrusy flavor .. for grating zucchini .. and for one of my favorite quick recipes, a carrot raisin salad. This tool is PERFECT for finely grating the carrots - just like I love them! What else do I love about this tool? That it's stainless steel .. that it's got a lovely, cushy easy-to grip handle .. and another plus is that there's a plastic 'sheath' that snaps on to cover the grating/zesting area so there'll be no skinned knuckles when I put my hand in the drawer to pull it out to use! The clean-up is simple too: I washed it in warm water before the 1st use, and, to preserve its elegant gold finish, I'm avoiding abrasive cleansers that might mar it. After each use, it's so quick to wash it by hand, dry, snap on the protective cover, and slip it back in the drawer. It's not an item to pop into the dishwasher, but that's a good thing because, like all sharp things, it needs to go back in the drawer and out of harm's way when not in use.

This zester is perfect! Not only is it durable but it's beautiful! The size of the blade and handle in proportion to each other is spot on for best handling while using it. The blade is sharp, burr free unlike some cheaper off brand zesters and in the same sense, this zester is also more durable in strength of the blade. This fine piece of kitchen must have is definitely one of the best I have ever used. It grates zucchini squash and carrot with ease, I have not tried block cheese yet but I would think it will handle the task expertly as the blades are thin and angled just right for a nice even shred. A nice perk is that it comes with a little durable plastic cover for when it's not in use.

Easy to use, easy to clean. I was also surprised at how quickly I was able to grate an entire wedge of parmesean with minimal effort. I did not have to apply a lot of pressure to work through a wedge. It also zests citrus easily.

I hated that it's gold, lol, but it's growing on me. I needed a microplane for zesting, and this was all i saw so I grabbed one. It works great, and regardless of the color, I love it. Thyme and Table is one of my favorite brands. They make sprucing up your kitchen, easy, beautiful and affordable.

Very nice surprise. It is well-made Beer sharp so you gotta be careful not to grate your fingers lol.

This zester seems to be dangerous. It's hard to use as in it is not a smooth grate but rather jumps off the citrus. Maybe it's because the shaft is so long. I ended up with cuts on my knuckles from it jumping off of a lemon I was zesting.

Cover doesn't cover the sides so they are extremely sharp. So sharp, you can cut yourself just by touching the sides!

Just buy a brand name microplane. This is unbelievably worthless. Tried to zest a lime. Instead of passing smoothly over and generating bits of zest, the lime got stuck on quite literally every single blade. Said blades did not scrape a tiny bit of zest of either, oh know, it dug deep into the flesh, way deeper than it needs to be, biting all the way into the bitter pith. Absolutely unfit for purpose. Literally just generates more waste that's going into a landfill. Unbelievable.

I thought this was a super cute zester. gold and black is the color of most stuff in my kitchen so I was excited to see this. The issue is it sucks! The back is so sharp it sliced into my hand when I tried to press the cover on. Very dangerous going right into the trash.

Its cheap. you can easily slice your hand as there is no guard on the metal underneath. I will be returning this item
