I replaced the old one with a new one and a new one works just like the old one only new
works great it has a lot of power-- very fast delivery
Works great.
Just bought it July 2014. it was very easy to put together. I like how I can adjust the handle to my height. It was a bit heavier than an old one I had but the job went faster so I didn't have to hold onto it as long. It was very powerful. I could see how it nicks the post and rail fence if you get to close. I'm just glad I don't have to stop and "bump" the line every 5 minutes like the last one I had. Very pleased
It looks good on paper and in the online video. I opted for the electric wired trimmer and I have a large back yard and the usual suburban front yard. It performs well for what it is. The only feature that takes getting used to is the auto line-feed. The line is thin and breaks often, requiring releasing the trigger, waiting for the line reel to feed additional line, then picking up where you left off. This makes edging and whacking thick weeds or heavy grass tufts a bit more tedious and time consuming than with a more heavy-duty trimmer line and/or gas bump-fed trimmer. I like it a lot, but it's better suited to light-duty and smaller work areas.
I chose this brand because my father had a Toro electric trimmer he bought in the early 1970s, which I inherited, and which only just expired. It was a wonderful tool which lasted more than 40 years, and I can only hope its replacement from Toro will be equally durable and excellent.
Weight is too heavy
The machine is too heavy for continuous use. The spool is almost impossible to restring when the cord breaks. I had to use a screw driver to get the spool cap to release. The cord release button does not work. I bought this on line so I did not realize how heavy it was but I would caution women to seek a lighter weight product.
The unit has plenty of power and cutting ability. However, the auto-feed leaves a lot to be desired. To advance the string you stop, wait 2 seconds, then start... Most of your time will be spend doing this. Or, you can turn the unit upside-down and press the button and pull the strings out. I find myself doing this more than actually using the unit.
This product is junk. The line will not advance, it is difficult to have remain running. I used mine for four to five feet and the spool exploded. I would suggest to anyone foolish enough to purchase one of these to do the same as I did, throw it in the trash.
