This Toshiba drive was a replacement for an older one, which was a little smaller. It was not as much "plug %26 play" as I had hoped, but after I reformatted it, it finally started working as expected. I like it and it works well, so I have no complaints.
Extra storage options are always a good idea. Hard drives are the answer to relieving a computer of large amounts of files like photos or manuscripts. Toshiba has competitive prices.
The Toshiba drive is convenient to have, it is a great size and it holds a lot of storage. I had no problems connecting it to my computer.
Had an older one 500MB and help keep my 3 yr old HP laptop going. It got outdated and memory ran out. so got new cpu and this 2T hard drive runs smooth
Just plug into usb port, not through a hub. Comp sees drive, no drivers needed. Easy to use. Working with Windows 11.
I ordered this as well as a case to replace my previous external drive that I was carrying everywhere with me and using as a working drive. It turns out external drives should only be used for about 5 years and sparingly, as storage. I now carry files around with a memory stick. Lesson learned after I lost a boatload of photos and files.
Yep, it's a hard drive. Nothing wrong with it. Just a 5400 RPM drive, so it's pretty slow, but it gets the job done, and Toshiba drives tend to be pretty reliable in my experience. The fact that it cannot be converted to a SATA drive is somewhat disappointing, but it's meant to only be an external drive, so it wouldn't be fair to discount it on that aspect. Would reccomend.
So far, so good these past few months. Mostly use it to back up photos and videos from my phone and laptop. It's not as fast as an SSD but I already knew that when I purchased it.
did not receive what I paid for! paid for the toshiba but got sent a wd brand.
I bought a 1TB Canvio in 2014 to backup my XP system. I wanted a Western Digital but the Canvio was on sale. The Canvio required constant maintenance which was annoying. Wanting to get rid of the Canvio I bought a 2TB Western Digital drive. It would not work with my XP system so I felt forced to buy another Canvio. The problem with the WD may have been the 2TB. I did not know and got nothing back from WD.
