Tramontina Professional Aluminum 12" Non-Stick Fry Pan

THIS IS EXCELLENT! I LOVE IT! I ALWAYS READ INSTRUCTIONS AND CARE FOR MY POT AND PANS BASED UPON INSTRUCTIONS. I COOK, SAUTEE, AND KEEP BETWEEN LOW AND MEDIUM HEAT. I DO NOT USE HIGH HEAT SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE MY PAN. A TRUE NON STICK, EVEN COOKING! I LET THE PAN COOL, WASH UNDER WARM SOAP WATER WITH A SPONGE OR COTTON CLOTH, DRY AND HANG. A BIT OF WEIGHT, BUT NOT TOO HEAVY. CARE FOR IT AS INSTRUCTED AND I BELIEVE IT WILL LAST FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

This frying pan is the perfect size at 10". The sides are shaped not too high so you can get a spatula in there easily to flip an egg omelet, etc. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and has heavy duty rivets holding handle on. Silicone handle is oven safe- I had it in oven at 475 a few times with no problem. I use the microwave so much less because what ever I put into this frying pan to cook or especially reheat, I just throw it in this pan. No lid, but have 2 old lids that mysteriously fit this, I think because of the shape of the top just makes lids of close size fit. I love this thing.

Got this to replace my commercial Winco 12-inch non-stick pan, which had started to warp after several years of hard use. It seems very nicely made for the price, with a decent heft and good finishing. The few times I've cooked with it so far it's performed well. Nice balance, and the standard non-stick surface is as expected. The included handle guard is nice, with a contoured bottom side, and feels secure to use. There are a few differences with my commercial pan. The Tramontina is not as deep, and only two rivets hold the handle to the pan as opposed to three on the Winco (see pics - Tramontina is on the right in both photos). It also appears that the aluminum is very slightly thinner, but not to any significant degree. As I said, it cooks well so far. Good, fast, and even heat distribution, and tossing ingredients is not hard (although not as easy as in the Winco with it's deeper dimension). All in all an excellent pan for the money. I do recommend it.

The pan is beautiful! It is solid and has a nice weight to it. The pan is completely flat which is good. It sure looks and feels like a professional grade - exceeded my expectations!

Cons: food is not evenly browned, have to move food to "hot" area of skillet to cook. Using soft sponge to wash after use and clean up is easy, by non stick if coming off, pan already looks old and damaged even though using only wood or plastic spatulas. really wanted to love it for years to come, but it's already needs to be replaced after only 8 months.

Deceiving, NOT PFOA free, description on Walmart site says it is but in reality is not, on the actual tag they covered the line where is written PFOA free with a white sticker. It's sad that they use tricks so cheap and it's childish the way they do it. See photo.

Skillet drags across burner making it difficult if not impossible to shake pan while cooking. After only a half dozen uses bottom deeply scratched and will undoubtedly be increasingly hard to clean and use.

It arrived dented out of the box. The pan is visibly not circular, but flattened on one side. There is a sharp mark on the rim of the pan that suggests the damage happened before it was boxed for shipment.

Destroyed our ceramic glass stovetop after just one use. Sold as usable on ceramic glass. Apparently there's warning about using on ceramic glass tops, but its hidden on the inside of the package. This should not be sold as usable on ceramic glass if this is the case.

This pan actually irreparably damaged my glass stovetop! My first time using it, I was finished with the cooking and removed it from the stovetop to see a series of significant and PERMANENT scratches in my glass cooktop. When I turned the pan over to see what could have caused this, I saw that the pan had numerous nicks in the bottom surface around the edges so that any time the skillet would slide a little over the cooking surface, it would scratch it. I am beyond upset and have already tried multiple methods to correct the scratches, all to no avail, meaning I will now be out big money to pay a professional to either attempt some sort of repair or replace the glass top. DO NOT BUY!
