Great battery powered fan! I bought this for my hurricane preparedness supplies. We were without power after Hurricane Irma, only to find that our old battery powered fan didn't work, ugh! Bought 3 of these and tried them with 6 D cell batteries and they're perfect... great gift ideas for family members in hurricane zones too :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I am very happy with the purchase. Great price! It is very slim and quite powerful. It does take a lot of batteries and i have not try to see how long they will last but I will make sure I have extra in hand just incase its needed. It's definitely a good item to have incase the power goes out on those hot steamy days.
I had never experienced quite this number of weather related power outages until I moved to Texas. I purchased one fan after the first power outage. When it happened again, the fan came in quite handy. I decided to purchase additional fans so we could all be a little more comfortable especially during the night time outages.
I bought this fan for very particular use.. to blow thru a heat exchanger for hydronic primary space heating in our solar cabin. I had a regular box fan, but even on low it was loud, moved too much air, and hummed because of the PV/solar non-sine inverter. This unit, with the supplied DC wall adapter and simple mechanical Hi-Lo-Off switch works perfect to be controlled with an external thermostat, runs extremely quiet in low mode, it is DCpowered so there is no AC hum, and altho the blades dont develop high pressure/volume thru the exchanger(im only using low), there is little cavitation noise. On high or low, and when un-obstructed, this thing is a champ! it moves alot of air, and is still relatively quite even on Hi. I dont think ill bring that big box fan back in this summer, and look forward to tent camping and trying the batteries. I am pleased.
I bought this to put down in my tornado shelter as the thought of no air movement drives me crazy. I plugged it in and frankly was amazed by the air movement and how nice the fan is. One reason I like it is it is very low profile....it's not too deep or big to sit on a kitchen counter. It's just SO great that it's also battery operated. Many a time I've wished I had a fan when the power went out....so glad I found this. I liked it so much I also ordered a smaller version And the little fan that hangs around your neck. Great product!
This fan totally met my needs. Looks sleek, doesn't take up a lot of space, useful for emergency or outdoor use with batteries and best of all, quiet. The price is a bonus since you could pay the same or more for a fan without the battery option. The only thing I would change is to lower battery needs to two 9volt rather than the 6 or 8 d option offered for sale or better yet set to recharge with a battery pack. The power was no different on high or low with battery power or house current. I use recharge batteries so it worked for me, but could be costly to use disposable batteries. So stock up on recharge batteries and you will be ready for anything.
I bought this for my dad in Puerto Rico who recently pass the hurracaine Maria, they are without light and those little fans are life savers. I totally recomend those fans and this website is awesome, fast shipping and great prices. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We had several of the earlier version of this fan and were pleased with their portability and their air movement. We used the fans in our booth at art shows where there was typically no electricity, so batteries were a must. Although the drab beige of the old version was less than attractive in the booth displays, they did the trick, but took a beating and warranted replacements. The new version added a black front and is lighter and more streamlined. The new version uses 6 D batteries rather than 8 (the old style), and the new battery covers can be securely screwed in place if you wish. All in all, a good thing got even better. Walmart's shipping was exceptionally quick and they had the best pricing!
This fan works very well on batteries I use it in my bedroom when the power went out it is so quiet I can hear the ticking from my alarm clock the battery life is not as good as I had hoped, but all in all I liked it so much I went to Walmart and got another (smaller)fan. I rate this fan 9 out of 10
I purchased this fan to use in my car while I was waiting to pick up the granddaughter from school. Living in Florida, I didn't want to have my car running the A/C while I waited, so I bought this fan. It was perfect - kept me comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone.
