I actually bought it for a Christmas present for my nephew. Last year he had a little magic kit and seemed to enjoy trying to fool me. I figured I'd do it for him and then see if he can figure it out and then he could have it. It took me 2 tries to figure out. I think it will be fun for a 7 year old to prank his friends with.
A key and a coin — two simple, solid things. And yet, the idea that they'll merge, pass through one another as if reality just softens for a second — that thought keeps looping in my mind. I'm obsessed with that image: the metallic click, the disbelief frozen on someone's face.
A grand stage illusion adapted for close-up magic. Do not dismiss this as a children's trick, this is highly commercial and makes a powerful opener to immediately capture your audience's attention. I am a working professional and use this as part of a structured set where I discuss stage illusions and demonstrate how their principles translate into close-up effects. It has been a fantastic addition to my performances. I like to borrow a quarter and have it initialed by a spectator, perform this effect, then seamlessly segue into sleight-of-hand with the same coin, finishing with Double Cross and a vanishing magician illusion. This is well done, intriguing, and genuinely fooling for audiences. Take your time with it and build it into something more than a one-off trick, it's absolutely worth the investment.
A very simple to do trick that is quite deceptive. Your magician friends will be amused but not fooled, but your non-magician Uncle and your nieces and nephews will be. I keep it on my bar to entertain my slightly overserved guests. It is perhaps a tad on the expensive side for what you get but its worth it for the fun factor in my opinion.
I love this trick. This trick is a very good one because it looks like you actually put a key through a solid metal coin. I love this trick. I would definitely recommend it.
This is made very well and the effect is very mysterious! I will carry this with me on my regular keychain... Nice Work, Zach!
The trick arrived quickly, and within minutes of watching the video tutorial, I was able to perform it. It's very easy to do and will definitely be one of my go-to EDC tricks.
I ordered this immediately because it looked very attractive and once I received it I was amazed by the quality of the product and so well done. Love it.
While I would have preferred the prop being a little less decorative for my performance purposes, Key Coin is well made and its design extremely deceptive. I'll buy another as a back-up. Highly recommended.
Pretty easy to do and nice impact to non magicians
