Great!!! You can see details of moon when you look into it.
Is good, I don’t understand why you can’t see trough the small eye piece above.
I am new to astronomy but this seems to be a decent starting point telescope so far. I have been able to resolve craters and other features on the moon so far and the crescent phase of Venus which are featured in my somewhat blurry photos if they are made available. Tonight I was able to just make out some of the color bands on Jupiter and could easily see three of the four Galilean moons of Jupiter as well. It is slightly out of collimation but I bought a laser collimator along with it and will attempt using it this weekend to make the focus more clear. The mount is definitely the biggest problem and it's wobbliness forces you to over adjust it every time you turn the telescope towards an object in order to center it in the eyepiece. Even when over adjusting it settles in a somewhat random place so trying to see something specific becomes a real challenge, especially at higher magnifications. The phone mount seems useless because it uses suction cups that don't hold anything for too long. The opening of the 10mm eyepiece is small and hard to see through. I am ordering some color, polarization, and UV/IR filters that will hopefully reduce the glare from the brightness that such a large aperture provides. I am also buying a solar filter so I can see sun spots. I'm not sure if anything can be done about the wobbliness of the mount. I knew this could be a problem going in. I will edit this post if I find out a fix.
Telescope Review The item came fast. Nothing was damaged. I have a collimator and checked it. I’ve never seen a telescope this bad out. I had to reposition the secondary mirror in order to align everything because I ran out of side screw adjustment to get it centered. I spent 2-3 hours working on it. Normally, it takes about 10 minutes. The clarity was worse than a $25 telescope that I own. I can’t seem to get it focused on any of the supplied eyepieces or quality ones that I own. In addition, the tripod is a joke. It is impossible to lock the elevation in. It’s so flimsy that when you lock it and let it go, it sags .25-.5 inches. You have to guess how much it will sag. I spent 3 hours modifying it with a turnbuckle so I can precisely lock it down. It is nice looking physically and appears to be well made (scope). That’s about all I can say. I compared the image quality to my $250 Orion 130mm scope. There is no comparison (day and night difference). I can barely see one crater with this scope (using your imagination) while I clearly see 20-50 on the other scope using the same magnification. I would save my money and buy a better scope! Below is a picture with this scope and the other is with my $250 Orion scope. You be the judge!
Knock off! Do not buy! Doesn’t have the branding it is supposed to and came missing parts. We got this for Christmas and just not got around to putting it together. It’s garbage.
They misspelled magnification on the box. That alone makes me want to return it. It has no brand name so I know it is a knockoff of what is advertised I bought. I will update my review after I put it together and try it out but I don't have much hope it will be worth a crap.
You will pay for a TELMU telescope and they will send you a cheap copy. Not the same quality at all. You should get what you paid for. Disappointing
The barrel of the telescope has a big dent, seems like it got hit by something. The Barlow Lens has some scratches on the body. Long story short the company made the delivery to make some money. Unfortunately I am returning
Me and my family was looking forward to exploring astronomy once we received our telescope. This was our first and pretty sure our last time we order from Walmart on line. They ruined our excitement and desire. Ripped away like a bear with no fur. I’m I. Process of returning. This experience doesn’t deserve even one star. I give it no star. How could Walmart let this item go out like that.
Have to return. Came dented. Shipping box was fine. The vender sent this knowing it’s damaged
