It is so nice to have manicured looking nails without paying a salon to manicure them. And if I break a nail (mine shatter like glass) I can fix it in seconds for a smooth finish. And my toenails are the neatest they have ever been. I love my Rotoclipper!
It is clear from some of the negative reviews that some might think this tool will CUT your nails, it will not, but will TRIM them very nicely, and file them smoooth. I have very thick, strong nails, and didn't have huge expectations that this would tackle them, but when I lowered my expectations of it actually cutting my nail down from long to short, and followed the instructions for soaking the nail first, it worked great (now, instead of soaking, I just use it after a shower when my nails are already soft). This is a TRIMMER, and if used a couple of times a week after a shower, it does a terrific job. I have arthritic hands, and this has made a once difficult task much easier. It does not do the corners of your nails well at first, but once you get the hang of it, and keep your nails trimmed properly, the corners get easier to do. Also helps to keep a very fresh battery in it, bogs down a bit when the battery starts to drain.
no good
I got this item thinking it would save me some time. Got home all excited about getting my nails looking good..............boy was I disappointed! I could clip and file my nails quicker than this little machine! I actually didn't think it was doing anything at first, so I kept adjusting my finger until I actually felt like it was working! Sadly, it still didn't make much of a difference at all. Ended up looking for my nail file and did them myself!
Saw this item advertised and purchased. 1) One is supposed to soak their nails in water for a moment, prior to trimming 2) After soaking nails the trimmer appears to very slowly begin to make minimal effort to trim nails 3) After minimal effort has taken minutes...one finds it much easier and quicker, to pick up the nail clippers and do the job "old-school. This item is being returned. Purchase items with greater power and consider that the finite opening for the nails in this product, limits the ability to place the instrument on the toe nails for trimming properly - as larger toe nails can have difficulty fitting within the finite opening.
does not work well. just like other reviewers said
Another person getting wealthy from selling a product that does not live up to the promise. This is a trimmer - and it takes a long while to trim your nails. It will not CLIP your nails, which is misleading when you consider the commercials. It will TRIM nails, which are already short. Wish we had not bought it, but guess we did make another millionaire 'inventor.' Ain't America great?
Does not work
Because the price was less than $10 in the store I bought one just to check it out. This is a gimmick. It appeals to everyone who wants a machine to quickly file nails. This ain't it. You can do your nails faster with clippers and a file. I have to hand it though to the inventors. The part that does the work is a metal rod that has cutters that do the cutting although very slowly. But it has to be slow because if it were any faster it could do damage before the user realized it. Turning the Roto Clipper upside down makes it into a file with the back side of the cutter bar. The user inserts a fingernail into the slot but the user is never sure that the nail is in correctly which makes the product hard to use. It does a poor job on the nail corners because it is difficult to insert the corners into the slot. The user is advised to dip their nails into warm water for three minutes prior to using the product which creates more delay. Having to wet the fingers means one hand at a time so that after finishing one hand, the user must soak the other hand before using the product.. Don't have to do that with clippers and a file. Generally the user will wind up having to finish the job using a nail file. I give the inventor credit for ingenious design but it is much too slow to be of any practical use. I returned it to the store.
i bought one these at an As Seen On TV Store in a shopping plaza for twenty-one dollars, and six cents, I brought it home, and I had to use a scissors to open up the package because you can't pop the package open. After putting batteries in this product the machine does work, but I soon discovered that it won't trim your nails no matter what size hands you have during the use of this product. The As Seen On TV Store won't take it back.
