I couldn't be more happy with this purchase! My mom keeps her grandkids often and they are always losing remote controls and she needed one for her living room TV as well as her bedroom TV. The remotes came in with the batteries which I wasn't expecting, which was wonderful… The TV in her living room is a Samsung but has no buttons on the actual TV whatsoever to turn it on. The TV really should be on when you start the programming process. I thought I was up a creek and I pushed the power button and the TV came on immediately. Apparently it comes pre-programmed for Samsung. Then I took the other one into her bedroom and the TV is more of a generic brand but sure enough it had the code for it and it worked like a champ. The layout is very friendly and easy to use. All of the functions that I need are there. And the price was great. Wonderful!
It took a little while to find the perfect code and program our remote, but once we found it the remote works fabulously. And the battery life is great.
They look well-built but to let you know I have not figured them out yet. I hope to read through the documentation and figure it out so both me and my wife would both have remotes. OMG it will be remote wars between us!!!

With newer TVs and Blu-ray players so dependent on remote controls, I thought it would be a good idea to get universal remotes in case the original remotes went bad. This unit is adequate, but no more. I had hoped one remote could operate both the TV and Blu-ray player, but since this didn't seem to be possible, I set one remote for the TV and one for the Blu-ray player. Everything works fine, but for the Blu-ray remote there's no button to get disc information (i.e. length of the movie). Also, I can only fast-forward or fast-reverse but can't navigate between scenes. The remote for the TV is better and seems to do what I need. All-in-all, a decent but bare-bones universal remote. I'll probably look to buy a better one at some point; even if it costs a little more. My advice, steer clear of this one.
