Roku Streaming Stick HD - HD Roku Streaming Device for TV with Voice Remote - Free & Live TV

My mom’s “old” smart tv (5 years?) wasn’t supported by the apps anymore so I got this for her. Easy for me to set up and easy for her to use. I had considered buying her a new tv but hers works fine and support for apps on the new ones is only guaranteed for two years. I’m not replacing tvs every two to four years. Quite the little scam the tv manufacturers have worked out with Netflix and YouTube etc. This little gadget saved me hundreds of dollars.

I bought this mainly to access the Spectrum app, and it couldn’t have been easier to set up—just plug it in and you’re good to go. It quickly recognized my TV and automatically configured the remote, which was a nice surprise. Most popular apps come preloaded, which is convenient. The only small downside is that even when you power it off, it still seems to run in the background and eventually switches to the screensaver. That said, I love the Roku City screensaver and spotting all the hidden Easter eggs. Overall, I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

I had got a new TV. I got it all hooked up sat down and ready to watch. turn it on, searching for my apps. the one's I watch most weren't their. I didn't panic. I went right down to to Walmart and me a ruku streaming stick. took it home hooked it up. now I have all my apps on my new TV. lol.

I personally like the Roku stick as I have a Roku smart tv. This stick was bought for my son’s TV, which was not a smart tv. His tv also his not have a regular remote to turn it off or on , or to turn the volume up or down. This stick was not only easy to install to the tv, but also was able to program itself to the tv type. This allows the tv to be turned on and off, volume to be turned up and down, as well as the normal function of the stick without needing a primary remote to the tv. This was a lovely feature. Once the Roku stick was on, it was also easy to get this situated for use. Definitely recommend.

i have a tabletop model that plugs into the wall that is a few years old. what i like about this new one is that there is no wall plug. it plugs directly into the tv. just make sure you have a usb port and hdmi port on tv for connecting the stick. i also like that it has voice control.

Ordered a new stick and received used registered to someone else with dead batteries in the remote. If ONN gets a pause button I'm switching because of the offensive content flooding Roku lately and their messing with the settings after I've made my selections. won't be purchasing from Walmart again.

wanted to update my equipment. Have everything set up but nothing happened. I call Roku customer service . First red flag, person didn't know what it was. second red flag,He told me my account was suspicious. Why? He proceeded to tell me that several different states were coming from my account. third red flag, He asked me to download an app that would give him access to my phone. I asked several questions ,he was irritated Asked "Don't you trust me"? The account should be on his end to reset. Needless to say I hung up. called security checks. Nothing showed up. What to do now?

First of all this should’ve been an easy setup. I bought this for my mom and when setting it up everything was in Spanish. There was no place to go to settings and change that. I was able to get to the part where it sent her an email for setup and it wouldn’t let her. I’m not sure what the problem was, but it appears she got a used one or something. Returning it!!!

The front of the box says that there is an offer for a 30 day free trial of Hallmark . This is a lie by Roku. They do NOT offer this even though it is clearly marked on the front of the box. After spending a very long time in a Roku chat they refused to honor the 30 day trial offered on the box. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. Roku falsely advertised on the box and the offer inside of the box said the promotion was good until the end of the year. The Roku agents claimed that the offer wasn't available for this model even though it clearly is shown on the front of the box. F-

We had always liked the Roku operating system because it was so easy to navigate. Recently however, Roku has gotten very aggressive with adding unwanted apps and stuff to the home screen. When I complained, Roku said it was their operating system and they can do with it as they please. Okay but it will be without our household. Going back to our previous stick.
